He holds my hand as we walk into the hotel and head toward the elevators.

He doesn’t speak.

I don’t speak.

We enter the elevator, he hovers his key card over the reading device, and the elevator ascends.

The doors open with the ding of the bell, and I walk at his side to his door, which he unlocks and opens.

Once the door is closed, he grips my shoulders, slams me up against the wall, his blue gaze searing into mine.

“We’re going to get one thing straight now, Mary. When I say—”

But his words are interrupted by a voice. A female voice.

And it’s not mine.

“Thank God you’re here, Ronan. I’m back.”

Chapter Thirty-Seven

Ronan

I jerk my head over my shoulder.

You’ve got to be kidding me. How the hell did she get into my suite again? Heads are going to fucking roll.

“What the hell are you doing back here?”

“I never got on that flight, Ronan. I couldn’t. I booked a hotel, and I’ve been waiting for the right time…” Keira glares at Mary. “Who the hell is this?”

“Who the hell are you?” Mary answers her.

“She’s Keira,” I say. “And she’s leaving.”

Keira narrows her gaze. “I’m afraid I can’t leave, Ronan.”

“I assure you that you can.”

Keira slowly walks toward me. “There’s something I didn’t tell you before. I thought about not telling you. But honestly, I must.”

“I think that’s my cue to leave,” Mary says.

I trail my finger over her cheek. “You stay. She’s leaving.”

“Ronan, I—”

“Damn it, Blossom. She’s leaving.”

“Not until I’ve talked to you,” Keira says.

“Fine. Whatever. Maybe you’ve forgotten who’s the Dominant here, Keira?”

“I’ll never forget that.”

“Oh my God.” Mary shakes her head and rushes out the door before I can stop her.

I run after her, but Keira yanks me back. “We need to talk.”

“I assure you, we do not.” I leave the room, chase after Mary, who’s already made it to the elevators and pushed the button.

“Don’t go.”

Her pretty face twists, and she turns away from me. “Seems you already have a companion for the evening.”

“I don’t. You’re my companion for the evening. Haven’t I made myself clear?”

“I’m not sure what to think, Ronan. I just don’t—” The elevator door opens. She gets in. “There’s something else I should talk to you about anyway, before we do another scene together. Call me tomorrow. Maybe we can figure this thing out.”

Something else?

Instead of demanding she explain herself, I let her go.

It’s against my nature, but I let her go.

Because I have to deal with Keira, and it’s probably best if Mary isn’t here to witness it.

Kiera and I were in a Dominant and submissive relationship for five years. That’s all we were. We weren’t in love. At least I wasn’t. And when she broached the subject of something more, I broke it off. A month later, when the opportunity with Black, Inc. came, I chose to relocate to New York.

A clean break.

A new start.

And a new submissive.

Who knew I would find her my very first night at the club?

But I’m baffled by these feelings I’m having. All those years with Keira, and I never wanted anything more.

But with Mary…

What is it about her?

I go back to my suite. I have to deal with Keira once and for all.

“Where are you?” I open the door and slam it.

“Bedroom.”

Probably naked in my bed again.

I walk in and…

Sure enough.

“I think I’ve made myself clear,” I say. “You and I are over.”

She spreads her legs, showing me her pussy. At one time, her actions would have had me hard and ready. No longer.

“I’m afraid we’re not,” she says.

I look away. “I’m afraid we are. And if we weren’t, you’d be headed for a nasty-ass punishment for defying me like that.”

In my peripheral vision, I see her get onto all fours, crawl on the bed, stick her ass in the air.

“Punish me, Ronan. Please. I need it. I need you.”

“I ought to turn you over my knee and spank that ass until it bleeds.”

She bites her lip, fingering one nipple. “Yes… Please.”

“No.”

I’m not into that, never have been. I don’t make women bleed. And the fact that she looks so turned on freaks me out. I only said it as a last-ditch attempt to make her leave willingly. But now, I’ll have to force her out.

“You’re going to go, Keira. Or I will have you removed.”

“Removed by whom?”

“Hotel security. Or if they fail, the NYPD. Right now you’re trespassing.”

“How do you think I got into this room?”

“The same way you got in the first time. I figured you were on a plane, so I didn’t bother telling hotel security about you. But I’ll be telling them now, for sure.”

She reaches toward me. “Ronan, you don’t understand.”

“I’m afraid I do.”

“No you don’t,” she insists. “I’m pregnant. I’m going to have your baby.”

Chapter Thirty-Eight

Mary

At first I tell the cabbie to take me back to the building where the club is located, but halfway there, I change my mind and tell him to take me home.
