"Jesus," I rumble, flipping her onto her back and crawling over her. "You're killing me, princess."
"I love you, Coby. I'm sorry that I asked you to hide what was happening between us. It wasn't fair to you." She cups my cheek. "I want the whole freaking world to know that I belong to you."
"You do belong to me." I lean down, claiming her lips in a deep kiss. "And I'm yours. I'll always be yours." I don't think she has any idea just how much I mean that. Hell itself couldn't drag me away from her now. In this life and whatever comes next, I'm hers. Nothing and no one will ever change that.
"Prove it," she whispers against my lips. "Make love to me."
She doesn't have to ask me twice. I strip her down, my hands and lips never leaving her body. For hours, I don't leave her body.
Chapter Twelve
Elodie
"Are you sure you want to work today, princess?" Coby asks for the fifth time, wrapping his arms around me from behind and nuzzling his face into my throat. "You can take the day off. We'll be okay here without you."
"I'm fine, Coby." I lean back against the hard wall of his chest, sighing. We've only been here for half an hour, but he's already been stressing me out. I know he's worried, but I'm not going to fall apart. I did that when Keegan caught us. And then he helped put me back together again.
We haven't heard from my brother since he drove off on Sunday. But I did text and give him a heads up that Coby asked me to marry him. I kind of figure that's part of the reason he's gone radio silent. But he can't avoid us forever. He'll reach out when he's ready.
It's killing me that he isn't speaking to us, but I know he will when he's ready. I just have to give him the space he asked for until then. I owe him that much. I wish he'd talk to me, though. I miss him.
Coby tried to keep my mind off of it by following through on our date in Houston yesterday. We had a good day. It was nice to finally be out in public together instead of hiding. I loved being able to hold his hand and kiss him without being afraid that someone would see and Keegan would find out.
I can't wait to spend the rest of my life being Coby's to the whole world. I want it so freaking bad. But I'd really like for my brother to be here too. Is that too much to ask?
"Coby's right," Slade says, eyeing us from across the lobby. "You can take the day off, sweetheart. We'll manage here without you."
I sigh. "Can you guys do me a favor? Please don't treat me like I'm going to fall apart just because Keegan decided to take a few days off, okay? I'm a big girl. I'll be fine." And I'd much rather be here than sitting at my apartment staring at the walls. Gemma is practically living with Bronx now. I don't want to be home by myself.
Slade holds up his hands in a gesture of surrender, clearly knowing when he's beaten.
Coby doesn't give up nearly as easily. "Just promise you'll go home if being here gets to be too much," he urges me. "I don't want you stressing yourself out just to prove a point."
"Yes, daddy." I roll my eyes at him.
He narrows his on me and then tips his head down, pressing his lips next to my ear. "Call me daddy again, and we'll be doing shit in my booth that you know damn well we shouldn't be doing here, Elodie."
Oh. Does Coby have a kink?
I file that away to explore later and then slip out of his arms before he gets us both into trouble. We're not having sex in his booth again. At least not for a while.
"I'm going to clean something," I mumble, heading down the hall to the supply closet.
He chuckles before turning to say something to Slade.
I drag the broom and mop out of the closet and quickly sweep out their booths before mopping. They have a cleaning service that comes in and does all of this for them four days a week, but they usually take turns doing it the other three days. I've been picking up the cleaning stuff on those days, so they don't have to worry about it. No one asked me to do it, but they have enough on their plates already, and there isn't a whole lot for me to do right now with the marketing.
Honestly, this place kind of markets itself. All I really do is keep their social media profiles updated with their new work and ensure we've got advertising and booth space at major shows. I also book appointments and handle any calls that come in. It doesn't take a lot of time.
