I'd suggested it after dropping him off at his car the previous night. I couldn't let him go without securing our next date, and I wanted to spend time with him in a different way. I wanted to see him in every light.
Even though I would've loved to have him at my place, I suggested playing at Henley's apartment because I wanted him to be as comfortable as possible. I thought if he was in familiar surroundings, he would be able to relax and enjoy playing better.
I climbed out of my car and grabbed a few bags out of the backseat. I was off work for the weekend and did a little shopping that morning while Henley worked a short shift at Perry's. Normally, shopping wasn't one of my favorite activities, but I enjoyed myself today; I wasn't sure how many toys Henley had at his place, so I picked up a few for him. I couldn't wait to watch him play with them; especially one very special surprise.
I carried the bags into the building and climbed the stairs to the second floor, which held Henley's apartment. I knocked on the door labeled 207, and smiled when I heard feet shuffling behind it.
I grinned wider when Henley's sweet voice asked, "Who's there?" It was then I noticed his door didn't have a peep hole, and I was proud of him for asking instead of just throwing it open for anyone.
"It's Daddy," I replied loudly enough for him to hear, but quietly enough so that his neighbors wouldn't. I personally didn't give two shits if they knew about our situation; I was proud as hell of my boy and our relationship, but I would never do anything to make Henley uncomfortable.
The door opened and my heart leapt with joy when Henley came into view. His smile matched my own, stretched from one ear to the other. "Hi, Daddy," he greeted quietly before waving me inside.
Once I crossed the threshold and the door was shut behind me, I leaned in and pressed a quick kiss to his lips. "Hi, kitten. How was work?" He was still dressed in jeans and his uniform shirt, and I wondered if his shift ran long.
"It was okay," he shrugged. "I didn't get to make any pizzas since it was early, but I made lots of dough for the shop to use later in the day."
"I bet you did a great job," I told him, and he thanked me with a smile. "Did you get to leave on time?"
"Yep. I got home about an hour ago." He answered my unasked question by adding, "I was going to change to get ready for playtime, but…" His cheeks tinged a pretty shade of pink. "I thought you might want to help me, or pick out my clothes or something."
I placed my bags on the floor to cup his face in my hands. "That was very thoughtful of you. As long as you're comfortable with it, I would love to pick out your outfit and help you change." I wanted to be involved in each step; from making the decision regarding his clothing, to helping him sink into his headspace. It seemed to be important to Henley as well, and I was grateful for the opportunity.
He nodded and took my hand to lead me through his place. "You have a nice apartment," I complimented as I looked around the small space. The living room and kitchen areas were connected, and kept tidy.
"Thank you." He took me through one of only two doors in the whole place (the second presumably being the bathroom) into his bedroom. It was also clean, and held a full size bed dressed with a cozy-looking checked flannel comforter. "Most of my clothes are in the closet, but my special clothes are in there." He pointed to the bottom drawer of a dresser along the wall.
Henley was being more forward and confident than I expected him to be. It was as if the excitement and anticipation of playtime was outweighing his nerves. It was exactly what I wanted for him; to not worry about anything, and just let go and enjoy. It was what little time was all about.
"Let's take a look." I opened the drawer and found a stack of t-shirts on one side and athletic shorts on the other. They were all plain, solid colors, and I assumed they were what he'd felt comfortable buying from the store. "These look comfy," I said as I removed a pair of gray basketball shorts and a navy blue shirt.
"How did you know those were my favorite?"
I chuckled and tapped a finger on my head. "A Daddy knows." After closing the drawer, I suggested, "Maybe we can look at clothes online together later. I bet we can find some very cute ones for you."
