“Gladly!”

I nearly gagged when he took a bite.

“Don’t tell me you don’t like corndogs, Georgie,” Morgan said with a laugh.

“She’s never liked them,” Blayze stated as Ryan appeared.

“Do you remember the first time she ever ate one?” Ryan said. “She threw up all over Mindy.”

I pressed my hand to my mouth. “Oh my gosh, I forgot about that.”

“I don’t think Mindy has,” Ryan mumbled.

Laughing, I looked over to see Morgan watching Ryan. Her eyes were filled with…was that longing? She seemed to snap herself out of it and looked away. At that exact moment, Ryan stole a glance at her. He let his gaze roam over her, even though she was wearing jeans, boots, and a winter coat.

I faced Blayze. “What was the reason for the charity event?”

He finished off the nasty corndog and wiped his mouth on his sleeve. “A local boy who’s big into the rodeo was diagnosed with cancer. His parents don’t have the money to take him to this specialty hospital in Billings, so the town got together to fundraise.”

Rose Marie walked up and rubbed her hands together. “Is it me or is it freezing in this barn?”

“It’s just you,” Morgan stated with a mouth full of funnel cake. Ryan laughed and pulled a piece off and popped it into his mouth. I wasn’t sure if he saw the dirty look Morgan tossed his way or not.

“Well, I’m freezing. My nipples could cut glass!”

“Rose!” Morgan exclaimed on a bark of laughter.

Kaylee shot her daughter an odd look that was both proud and disappointed.

Rose rolled her eyes. “You’re just mad you didn’t think of it first, Mom.”

“Touché,” Kaylee replied.

Warm breath hit my neck. “Dance with me?”

I couldn’t put the funnel cake down fast enough as Blayze took my hand and led me to the makeshift dance floor.

With my body pressed against his, I finally felt at peace. I hadn’t felt that way in nearly two months. A Drake Milligan song played—“She”—and Blayze held me tighter.

We danced without saying a word, even though we had so much to talk about. For right now though, I simply wanted to be held by him. He spun me around, then brought me flush against him again. I looked up into his eyes.

“Do you miss riding?”

He frowned as he thought about it for a second. “No. I don’t miss it.”

“Morgan said you’ve been riding more lately.”

Lifting his hand, he tucked a piece of my hair behind my ear. “You look tired, Georgie.”

“Not gonna lie, I’m exhausted. The last-minute flight back with Morgan was filled with long layovers in Atlanta, and then a bumpy flight to Montana. Then driving here from Missoula was a real fun adventure. I have never gripped that little handle on the door so hard in my life. Morgan drove like a mad woman to get to the rodeo in time for me to see you ride. And did I mention it’s snowing outside?”

Blayze laughed. “Gotta love that sister of mine. Thank you for inviting her to England. Mom said she had a wonderful time.”

“I hope she did. She met a lot of people in the fashion industry.”

He tilted his head when I let out a yawn. “That’s it, we’re leaving.”

“No! I’ll be fine.”

Placing his hand on my lower back, he started for the large table. “I’m going to take Georgie back to my place,” he told everyone. “She’s about to fall asleep.”

Rose Marie laughed. “Ryan just took Morgan home. She literally fell asleep while they were slow dancing.”

I chuckled. “We’ve had a long couple of days.”

“Who’s going to drive her car back to the ranch?” Blayze asked.

Dad walked up to us and leaned down to give me a kiss on the cheek. “I’ll drive it back. Ryan said he’ll swing by and drop Georgiana’s bag off on your front porch.”

Blayze shook his father’s hand. “Thanks so much, Dad.”

Glancing down at me, he asked, “You ready to go?”

I nodded, then proceeded to say goodbye to those at the table. Stella and Ty Senior had left a while ago with Tanner, Timberlynn, Ty, and Kaylee.

The moment I climbed into the truck, I dropped my head onto the headrest, and that was the last thing I remembered until I felt Blayze lift me out of the truck.

“I can…I can walk,” I mumbled, nestling my head against his warm body.

He chuckled and headed up the steps and into the house. I had nearly dozed off again by the time he put me down on his bed. I attempted to help him take off my coat and boots—they were the same clothes I’d been in since Morgan and I left London.

I sat on the edge of his bed, but nearly dropped down to the pillow as Blayze grabbed a T-shirt and handed it to me. I put it on and then crawled under the covers.
