“Huh?” I asked, glancing up at him. I blinked and then shook my head. “Oh. Yeah, I’m fine,” I told him evasively.
Truth was, I was… conflicted. The more I thought about Cameron and the club, the more I felt a need to pull away from what I was doing. I even thought about coming clean to him to see if we could start off on the right foot. My gut, which never led me astray, told me that Cameron wasn’t the evil guy I wanted to think he was. Sure, he was rough around the edges, but he wasn’t a bad guy.
But then, I thought about the reaction he’d probably have when I did tell him. If I’d learned anything about Cameron in the couple of weeks we’d been dating, it was that he was protective of his family. And if he thought I was trying to hurt them—which, honestly, I had been—the outcome couldn’t be good.
“Are you sure?” Trent asked. “You’re barely here today.”
I sighed. “Just a headache,” I partially lied. I did have one. And Tylenol hadn’t gotten rid of it.
My phone suddenly rang, and I grabbed it out of my pocket, a small smile tilting my lips when I saw Cameron’s name on the screen. When I answered it, I greeted him with, “Didn’t I tell you that I’d be working today?”
His husky chuckle sent shivers down my spine. “And didn’t I tell you I’d bother you anyway?”
“You said you’d text me,” I reminded him.
He hummed. “Well, I decided to call instead to see if we could spend some time together this evening.”
My heart fluttered in my chest. “I don’t get off until close to seven,” I warned him. “I’ll honestly probably be too tired to go anywhere tonight.”
“I’ll order pizza,” he told me, “and I’ll bring it with me when I come over.”
A surprised laugh ripped from my lungs. This man did not give a single fuck about boundaries or social niceties. “Did you just invite yourself over?”
“Yep,” he said, popping the P. “I believe I did. I’ll see you at eight, little devil.” And with that, he ended the call, not even giving me a chance to respond. I blinked at my phone once I brought it down from my ear.
Fuck, the nerve of him. And damn, why did I have to like it?
“Cameron?” Trent asked, a knowing smile on his lips. “How’s your… thing going?”
I sighed and leaned back in my seat, giving a shrug. “It’s… going,” I said, noncommittally. And thankfully, he didn’t get a chance to inquire more because our waitress popped up with our food, immediately distracting him.
The smell of my food only made my stomach turn. Cameron had been pushy but still just… nice on that phone call. No ulterior motives like me.
I was such a fucking bitch.
When I opened the door to let Cameron in, he pressed a kiss to my forehead before moving past me, setting the pizza he’d brought with him on my kitchen counter. I closed and locked my door back, and before I could even open my mouth to say a word to him, his hand was around my throat, my back was to the door, and his sinful mouth was on mine.
I moaned, arching my back and pressing my body into his. My mind blanked of everything but Cameron and how good his hands felt on my body. How fucking well he fucked his tongue between my lips, stealing my breath and robbing me of my senses.
“Cameron,” I moaned when he grasped a handful of my hair and yanked my head to the side, his tongue sliding over my neck before he sucked on a particularly sensitive spot that made my eyes roll back in my head and the most embarrassing moan rip from my throat.
“God, the sounds you make…” Cameron growled against my skin before he slipped a hand into my sweatpants. A shudder wracked through my body when his finger found my clit. Stars burst behind my eyelids when that same finger did something magical, and my knees went weak.
I whined and moaned and whimpered as Cameron worked that sensitive bundle of nerves until I was coming on his fingers, gasping for air. He pulled back from me, his pupils blown and taking over his dark irises, his chest heaving. “Bedroom. Where?”
I grabbed his hand before pulling him after me through the kitchen and the living room. As soon as I pushed open my bedroom door, Cameron gripped my hips and tossed me onto the bed. I leaned up on my elbows, my breathing heavy as he toed off his boots and shrugged his cut off his shoulders. Once he had both items off, his cut draped over my dresser, he tugged his shirt over his head, letting it fall to the floor. My mouth began to water when he unfastened his jeans and dropped them right along with his boxers, his cock standing hard and proud between his hairy thighs.
