Her smile lit up that room…

“When I date, if I and that person are not meshing, I am okay with that and move on. If we’re doing really good, I’m fine with taking it to the next level, because that’s what I want. You can want something but be okay that you don’t have it. That’s where I’m at right now. I work long, crazy hours. I’ve got a jealous streak. I’m protective, like you said, and I think some things a man should do, and others a woman should do. Some might think that’s sexist, and that’s fine, but it’s just who I am, and I’m stickin’ to it. I’m not afraid of commitment. My future plans match my current plans, and that’s by design. You got it now?”

She smiled, then nodded.

“Would you like a tour of my house? I’m quite proud of it.” She hopped up like a rabbit, zeal in her eyes.

“Okay.” You’re not off the hook, 800, but I’ll let you have a few more minutes to get yourself together.

She started by showing him various paintings and African and Egyptian style statues, then moved on to a book or two, explaining their history.

“…And this room has amazing brick arched doorways because it was once the school entryway.”

“It’s crazy how this used to be a small school, and someone turned it into a house. You got lucky finding this gem. I told you I dabble a bit in real estate. I own two rental properties right now, and I flip houses on occasion.”

“Yes, you did tell me that! I understand you do some of your own electrical and carpentry, too.”

“Yeah, I do. A little plumbing and other repairs, too. My father was at least useful in that way. He taught me how to fix a few things, and my mama taught me how to paint walls right, and hang pictures and shelves, things like that. Nothin’ too complicated, but I figure if I can save money doing some things myself, then I will.”

“That’s smart because the cost of help and supplies is constantly rising. This place was a steal, too, because it needed a lot of work. So over here,” she pointed to the kitchen as they drew closer to it, “There was a bit of plumbing for a small washroom. They updated that and created the kitchen and half bath.”

Her kitchen was full of retro style baby blue and silver appliances. It reminded him of a 1950s diner and was pretty cool to look at. They completed the first-floor journey, then he followed her up the stairs.

“I had to have the staircase totally redone. The steps were steep and old.”

“Looks like a new banister was added. It’s decent, but it’s a wood handrail, and they didn’t varnish it evenly.”

She paused, looking perplexed as she studied the banister.

“Yes, I recently got that replaced again. What’s wrong with it?”

“See this? That is shiny, but right here, this tiny spot is matte. Here’s another one, and another one. It’s a patchy job. I can redo it for you, but I’d have to sand the whole thing down if you want to keep the same one instead of buying a whole new one.”

“Oh my God, you’re right. How’d you even see that?” She giggled. “It depends on how much you charge me if I feel it’s worth it.”

I don’t want any cash, baby. The price is some pussy. I’ll take care of it right after I plow your back out.

He kept his sleazy thoughts to himself, but as he walked behind her and watched her hips swing to and fro, her ass bouncing like a ball in her pants, his dick strained against his briefs, and it was hard to ignore his strong sexual desires for her. They kept moving about the house, and he listened to her talk, until at one point, he cleared his throat.

“I ain’t forgot.”

“…Neither have I.” She tossed him a glance from over her shoulder and rolled her eyes. “And over here is a rug my old college roommate gave me. Over the years it became old and ratty, so I cut it down to this small section, to remember her by. She was from Nepal.”

I. Don’t. Give. A. Shit. Who the hell is calling my woman and harassing her? My woman? We haven’t even fucked yet… I never commit without smashing first. I need to be sure she’s good in bed, the added cherry on top. Right now, none of that matters. She’ll be mine soon. I can feel it… Unless she tells me the person that’s calling is some administrator from an insane asylum trying to get her to come back to the hospital. Knowing my luck lately, it probably is.

She opened the door to her bedroom, and they walked inside. The first thing he noticed was a posh sitting area with cream furniture: a small two-seater couch, two matching chairs to the left of it, and two side-by-side mirrored coffee tables with silver and muted gold embellishments. Atop it also sat decorative dark gray and white books, and two silver ottomans, trimmed in gold around the bottom, were positioned to the right of the couch. Purple and slate gray pillows with hints of silver and gold design adorned the couches and chairs, and a large abstract painting in shades of gray and purple hung on the wall.
