She blows out a breath and holds my gaze. “What about you? Am I safe from you?” Her question is innocent and filled with concern.

I lift her fingers to my lips and kiss her knuckles, twisting my hand around to get to them without dislodging her grip on me. “You will always be safe with me. Safer than you’ve ever been. You will find me dominating and overbearing. It will frustrate you at first, but everything I do for the rest of my life will be done to ensure you are safe and happy.”

“Can you do all that without touching my butt again?”

I chuckle. “No. Even the parts of your care you think you don’t like will become normal to you. You’ll learn to crave my fingers inside you, both your pussy and your bottom.”

She shudders and gasps as she glances over my shoulder. “Shit. Who’s that?”

I rise. “Language, Little one. I’m keeping track of how many swats your bottom is going to get.” I turn to face the doctor. “This is Surgient. He’s the main doctor on the starship. He’s going to examine you to clear you for departure.”

“I don’t need an exam,” she argues. “I’m perfectly healthy.”

I bend over and kiss her lips briefly. “Not optional, Little one. Every Little girl gets examined thoroughly before stasis. We have medical equipment that’s far more advanced than anything on Earth. In addition, if you have any illness or disease, it’s likely we have the means to cure it before we take off.”

Her eyes widen. “Seriously?”

I nod.

Surgient comes to her other side and sets a hand on her head. Her blond hair is a bit wavey and messy from me washing it and letting it air dry. I love the natural look. I suspect she would panic if she saw it.

“Nice to meet you, Kendra. I understand you drank a bit too much alcohol earlier.” He reaches toward her face and uses two fingers to lift an eyelid while pulling down on her cheek at the same time. He does the same with the other eye next. “How are you feeling. Queasy still?”

“I don’t think so.” She releases my finger as if just realizing she’s been gripping it. A second later, she gasps and covers her chest with both hands. She jerks her head off the table to look down at herself. “What am I wearing? Why don’t I have a gown or something?”

This isn’t surprising. From what I’ve heard, every Little girl goes through this shock.

She jerks her knees up and tries to sit, keeping her palms over her breasts.

Both Surgient and I set a hand on her shoulders and her hips, pressing her into the table.

I do the explaining. “Little girls don’t wear anything but a diaper on Eleadia, Kendra.”

She shifts her gaze to me and glares. “You can’t be serious.” She is no match for the two of us, but she tries to buck her hips off the table. “I’m not using a diaper.”

Surgient nods at me, and we both pull her arms above her head before she grasps our intention. Surgient makes quick work of securing her wrists to the end of the table, forcing her to stretch out long.

She fights us, arching and whimpering, bucking and cussing. Words I don’t even know leave her lips in a waterfall of anger. “You can’t fucking do this… I have rights… I didn’t consent to this shit… Let me go.”

I hate how worked up she is, but Surgient looks unflappable. He’s used to seeing this reaction. He lifts a second strap over her torso just below her breasts and a third tight against her hips. Her legs are still free, but she’s too restrained to do anything with them.

Kendra works hard to escape the confines. She squirms in every direction to no avail. Finally, with tears in her eyes, she gives up and meets my gaze. “Please let me go.”

I smooth her hair back from her face while Surgient hands me a wet washcloth. I wipe away her tears next. “You’re safe, Little one.”

“I’m a prisoner.”

I try not to react outwardly to her anger. “You’re not a prisoner. You’re my mate, and my job is to ensure your safety. Flailing around like that isn’t safe. Avoiding a physical exam isn’t either. I would be a horrible Papi if I didn’t let Surgient examine you to make sure you’re healthy.”

Her bottom lip quivers. Her eyes are watery. It’s okay if she cries. She will feel emotional a lot, especially at first. I’ll be here to wipe away the salty tears and kiss her cheeks. I’ll be here to nick her skin to help her relax. I’ll be with her forever and always. Centuries. She will want for nothing in my care.

“Pierce her to help her settle down,” Surgient suggests. He sets a hand on her thigh and holds her steady.
