“What if they… oh fuck, just like that… what if they walk in here?”

Champ smelled like sweat as he pressed even closer to me. “Then they’ll see me fucking you against this wall.”

“They’ll fire us,” I whimpered, clutching at his hip to make sure he didn’t actually listen, to make sure he didn’t actually pull out of me. “They’ll make us go.”

“Not. Until. I’m. Done.” His voice was a hiss in my ear, his strong thrusting changed to slow undulations that punctuated each word and brushed past my gland with every stroke. “Listen to me, Quinn Taffet. I’m not leaving this body for anything. Do you understand? Not for anything.”

I vaguely heard people moving around in the kitchen on the other side of the wall. Marissa’s cheerful voice and Tommy’s deeper one, but I let myself float away in a lust-filled haze. I trusted Champ to take care of us, of me. I knew nothing bad could happen to me while in his care and in his arms.

“Well, good God, would you look at that?”

Tommy Drakes’s voice seemed to be only inches away, and my eyes flew open. Champ’s hand tightened over my mouth.

“What is it, Daddy?”

“You remember that wedding planner you were thinking of using initially, baby girl? Look at this article in the paper. Seems like Trey did us a favor by finding us Quinn.”

“It’s the only one he’s done,” Levi muttered.

“Where is Quinn this morning?” Marissa wondered. “I stopped by his room, but it was empty.”

I sucked in a breath… at the same moment Champ tagged my prostate with expert perfection. Sweat ran down my temple and dripped onto Champ’s muscular forearm, but I could no more have left that pantry than I could have sprouted wings and flown. I was exactly where I most wanted and needed to be.

Champ leaned over and licked the sweat before running the tip of his tongue along the edge of my hairline and groaning low in his chest as he moved his hand down to jack me off. It was all I needed to let go.

I sucked in a breath, but before I could let out a bellow, Champ clamped another strong hand over my mouth to muffle my orgasm. I screamed into his palm while he let out a soft chuckle that ended in a choked gasp. His body shuddered against my back as he pushed deep inside me and came.

We were a damp, sticky mess in a small space that now reeked of sex and sweat, but all I could think about was the tender caress of his thumb as it smoothed a damp piece of hair off my temple.

Champ’s lips grazed the side of my throat. “I don’t want to pull out,” he admitted softly.

I didn’t want him to either. I wanted him to stay inside me for as long as it took for him to become a different person, the kind who would consider more than stolen moments when it suited him. The kind who could admit when he wanted something more.

The kind who believed in something more than one-night stands.

He started to pull away from me, but I reached back and grabbed a handful of his hair. “Don’t.”

My voice came out ragged and scared, the opposite of something casual. I forced myself to let go and shrug him off, letting out a little laugh as if it was all some kind of joke.

“Just worried about the mess,” I said, lying through my teeth.

Champ put a hand on my back. “Stay right here.” He moved past me to grab a box of tissues off the shelf. After ripping them open, he pulled out a handful and used them to clean me off.

My face burned with embarrassment and discomfort. He’d always taken tender care of me after sex, but this was one of the times I wished he wouldn’t. The last thing I needed was to like him more.

To want him more.

To want more with him.

I gritted my teeth and said what I should instead of what I wanted. “I need to get to work.”

Champ looked up at me with furrowed brows. “So early on a Sunday?”

I moved away from him to yank my clothes back on. I could worry about a shower and a change of clothes when I got to the shop. “Yeah. Meeting with new prospective clients. Your mom, ah… your mom hooked me up with some killer referrals.”

“She did?” He sounded shocked, like he wouldn’t have expected her to help me.

“Yeah. She did,” I said, trying to bite back the defensiveness I felt. “I also had plenty of time to work the room last night after you left.”

I slipped my shoes back on and ran hands through my hair, hoping like hell I didn’t look like the fuck toy I felt like.

“Quinn, I’m sorry. About last night, I shouldn’t have—”
