“I can’t speak right now,” I said thickly. My eyes stung—and I couldn’t recall the last time I’d gotten emotional to this degree.
“That’s okay.” He kissed my neck and hugged my middle. One hard squeeze, and then he rubbed my back soothingly. “My number one priority is building something with you that will last for as long as we live.”
I shivered and closed my eyes.
“We’re gonna learn how to cook together.”
I chuckled, and for some reason, his lighthearted statement made my eyes well up.
“We’ll take each other out to dinner,” he continued. I focused on his voice—his warm, gentle tone. “We’ll go to the gym together. Weekend getaways, movie marathons, countless hours in bed—just you and me.”
I kissed the side of his head, and then I couldn’t really stop. One kiss became two, three, and four. His hair smelled so good.
Just you and me.
“Kink will always come in second place, Franklin. No matter how important it is to both of us, the just-you-and-me part is even greater.”
“That’s what I needed to hear.” I had to clear my throat again, and I finally found his lips. I kissed him hard and cupped the back of his neck. “That’s what I want.”
That was my organized chaos.
Jesus fucking Christ, the relief nearly bowled me over. The longing, the hope, the faith—it all exploded. I believed.
“So I will see you again next weekend, yes?” I asked between kisses, just needing to make sure.
He laughed softly and inched back to look me in the eye. “I’ll fly in Friday night.”
Good. Perfect. “We’ll have dinner—or better yet, takeout in bed.” I smiled and stroked his cheek. “A week without sex is going to be awful. I’ll need you the minute you walk through the door.”
Ironically, I’d gone years without sex in my marriage.
Jack smirked a little and raised his brows. “This is where you gotta speak up, hon. I’m fine with you playing with Kingsley and Tate. They’re safe. I know I don’t have to worry about them.”
See, now that I’d gotten all the reassurances I could dream of, I wasn’t so reluctant to discuss the involvement of others.
“I think my problem is that your list of safe partners is longer than mine,” I confessed. “I’d rather we wait. I don’t want to worry about potential partners you might have in New York.”
“That would be zero,” he chuckled. “I’m not hooking up with anyone until I’m back here with you.”
I raked my teeth along my bottom lip and watched him. “Do you want me to be with others?”
He sighed and smiled ruefully, and then he gathered my hands and guided me back to the couch. “I’m sorry. I’ll be patient. It’s for selfish reasons—the voyeur is greedy.”
I tried to understand. “Watching me with someone else actually brings you pleasure? All good feelings. Pure enjoyment.”
“Depends who you’re with, of course, but yeah.” He sat down next to me and grabbed his plate again. “I want the responsibility of picking your partners. I want to see you get on your knees and beg me to let you get fucked by someone else. Maybe Noa when he’s in his fuck-puppy mood. Dean, if he shows interest again, which—let’s face it—after last night, he will.”
Voyeurism—what an intriguing fetish.
I pinched my lips together and thought of him and Macklin together. That addictive torment. The pinch of humiliation, the jealousy, the lust. The anger and the desperation mingling, pulling me in different directions. As Jack had called me, “switchy submissive.”
“I want to see you be the whore you were born to be, Daddy. Under my ownership. My rule. No matter whose cock it is pumping in and out of you, it’s my permission you need.”
My goodness.
I shifted in my seat and, as discreetly as possible, adjusted myself in my pants.
When he put it that way…
“I, uh…I would like to wait a little while—till we’re more settled,” I said, seeing all kinds of filthy things in my head, “but after that… I—yes. I will be that Daddy for you, son.”
That earned me the most beautiful smile. “I can’t wait to put you to work. You’ll be a perfect fuckhole for all my friends.”
Hnngh. I gnashed my teeth together and failed miserably at appearing unfazed.
“Daddyyyyy!”
It was a crying Lily I greeted when she and Samantha showed up at three.
My poor girl, she was so tired.
I swooped her up and hugged her tightly, and she wrapped her arms and legs around me. “I missed you so much, princess.” I kissed the side of her head and tightened my hold. “I’ve prepared your pajamas, snacks, and fort. Everything’s ready for you.”
She whimpered and nodded, clinging to my neck.
She had my heart in a damn vise, this one.
Glancing over at Samantha, I noticed all her attention was fixed on Jack. She was very happy to see him, and I exchanged a smile with Jack as they hugged. His was more awkward than mine, for once. Maybe he was thinking of the future, because one day, we’d go public with our relationship. Not today, not tomorrow—probably not before Christmas. I had to take things extra slowly, not only for my sake but for Lily’s.
