“Yeah,” he grunted. “Take it deep.”

He was so fucking hot, he stole Rowe’s breath. But so did his cock. He loved the slick, satiny skin, the way the soft head bumped into his throat. He rubbed the flat of his tongue along it as he pulled it deep as Noah asked.

When Noah shouted and grabbed his head, bowing up off the bed, his eyes rolled back into his head and he thought of coming again, but his body was too sated. Instead, he reveled in Noah’s pleasure, loving that he’d given him this. He drank him down and slowly pulled off, then rested his head on Noah’s leg as the man panted above him.

“Felt the need to make a little noise there?” Noah asked softly.

“Maybe just a little.”

Noah reached down and stroked his fingers through his hair. “You, Rowan Ward, are my life. It’s you I’ve always wanted.”

He turned and dropped a light kiss on Noah’s inner thigh. “I know. But now he knows, too.” He peeked up at Noah, who grinned at his sheepish expression.

“Come up here, crazy man.” Noah tugged on his shoulder.

Rowe lay down on top of Noah, falling between his legs. He crossed his arms on Noah’s chest and propped his chin on them to stare down at the man who was his everything. “First time I’ve been faced with someone you’ve been with. A little jealousy is called for.”

“I seem to remember you being jealous another time.”

Rowe had to think a moment. “You mean the date with Ian?” Heat crept up his neck, and he knew his smile was slightly guilty. “That one scared me to death. It’s impossible not to love Ian, and you and I weren’t together.”

“We were after that.” Noah chuckled. “But damn, were you jealous. That gave me my first glimmer of hope.” He sighed and touched Rowe’s cheek. “There is no reason to worry about JB.”

“He still cares about you.”

“Of course he does. I’m irresistible.” A dimple popped in Noah’s cheek.

“That you are.” Rowe leaned up to kiss him. “That you are.”

Chapter Six

“I think we should go to Alexandria, Virginia, and talk to Chris’s wife,” Rowe announced when JB entered the kitchen the next morning.

Noah was busy making pancakes and bacon, his favorite breakfast, and instead of doing it half-naked as usual, he was dressed in sweats and a blue T-shirt that matched his eyes. His tousled, shoulder-length hair lay in a mess around his face. Sunlight streamed in through the windows, making the blond streaks shine. Rowe couldn’t help but touch his hip as he placed a stack of pancakes onto the table. He kneaded that spot, enjoying the hard muscle under his fingertips. He knew Noah had put the shirt on because of JB and he appreciated it.

“Dig in,” Noah told JB, pointing the spatula at the syrup. “Real maple syrup.”

“I feel spoiled,” JB said with a grin as he sat at the table in front of an empty plate. He forked a couple of pancakes onto it. He was wearing a loose red T-shirt and a pair of khaki shorts that showed off muscular legs. He also had a pillow crease on one cheek. The dark shadows under his eyes didn’t seem as heavy, and the anxiety that had tightened every muscle last night was largely missing. If his loud performance with Noah had disturbed JB in any way, the man wasn’t showing it. Rowe was willing to guess that he’d finally gotten some solid sleep for the first time since Paul’s phone call.

“I think going to Alexandria is an excellent idea,” JB continued. “Sally didn’t seem too keen on talking on the phone. Not that I blame her—her husband just died.”

“I’ll put Gidget—our resident computer genius at work—on what we have already, and we’ll start out this afternoon. It’s not that long a drive—about eight hours. If we drive, we can take plenty of toys.” Rowe got some pancakes and covered them in maple syrup. “Maybe we can get the name of the company Chris joined.”

Noah set a plate of bacon down, then sat next to him and grabbed the butter. “I’ll call Sven and get him to cover the job I had lined up this week. We can reschedule his classes. Oh, and I’ll call the dog sitter.”

Rowe reached for a slice of bacon and bit into the crispy strip. Flavor exploded on his tongue. There was nothing like bacon with the rich sweetness of maple syrup.

They ate quietly for a few moments, JB giving them both looks and when Rowe met his gaze, a slight flush filled his cheeks. So, he had heard them last night. Good. He placed his hand on Noah’s thigh under the table and squeezed it. He knew his feelings about JB were uncalled for, but every time he looked at him, he imagined the two of them fucking, and it was driving him crazy. He couldn’t help but wonder if JB was the sort for marriage and kids, because he still didn’t know if that was what Noah wanted.
