“You could at least act like you are interested in getting to know me.”

“I know everything I need to know.”

“But I don’t know anything about you. It would be nice for you to tell me stuff about you–”

My response is cut short as Lorenzo appears out of nowhere. Spinning me around to face him, he grips me by the throat.

My back lands harshly against the wooden cupboard, forcing me to stare deeply into pools of blackness. My breath expels from my chest in a rush, and I force more air in. Fear trickling in.

His hold is firm, yet I can still breathe. His other hand skims over my thigh, sending my body into overdrive. My heart rate spikes, and the fear melts into something else.

“I’m not a good guy. I’m not someone you should be sitting with, talking, and acting as if we’re normal. We are not normal. This interaction between us isn’t normal. You’re merely paying off a debt, which makes you about as good as the rest of the money that comes in and out of this house. Keep quiet, don’t ask questions, do as I say, and you won’t be hurt.”

His eyes soften, and the tension rolls right off his shoulders as he releases my throat. It throbs where he held it, so I try to rub some of the pain away.

“Why do you say stuff like that?”

“Because it’s true,” he snaps.

“I don’t believe you. You are not like this when we are in your room. You didn’t act like this earlier when you touched me. What changed?” I glance around the space. He told everyone to leave when we sat down to eat, so we are alone. It can’t be that he is trying to uphold his reputation.

“I’m always like this. You just need to open your eyes.”

“My eyes are open, and I see you.”

I see you more than you think.

Her eyes bleed into mine, and for some reason, I can’t look away. This pull between us is growing stronger by the minute, and I’m not sure if I like it.

“I see you.” Her words echo in my mind as she stares me down like she is doing just that. Seeing me… seeing the part of me I hide from the world. Hell, I even hide it from myself.

Years and years of building a carefully constructed mask, not showing anyone even a slick of emotion. Years of succeeding, and it takes this petite woman all of two days to crack through the barrier. I don’t know if I should be mad or impressed.

“I have some stuff to do during the day,” I tell her. I need a little space. “Do I need to lock you up and tie you down, or will you listen this time?”

“I’ll listen,” she says. “I’ll go straight to the bedroom and stay there until you come back.”

“You don’t have to stay inside all day. You may come here to eat or go to the music room. Nowhere else. I’ve been very lenient with you. This is your last chance,” I warn. “I will cuff you to the bed if I have to.” The thought has my cock stirring.

“On second thought, I might do that anyway.” I grin. “While I eat your tasty little cunt out. That way, you can’t get away.” Her cheeks turn a shade of pink as if she is embarrassed, but the way her pupils dilate at my crude words lets me know she is turned on as well.

My little virgin likes dirty talk, and I’m more than happy to keep teasing her this way.

She turns away and walks out of the kitchen. My eyes stay glued to her ass as her hips sway gently side to side with each step she takes.

Fuck, I can’t wait to be inside of her.

I’m supposed to be working. Supposed to be getting shit done, but the temptress under my roof is making it almost impossible to think straight, let alone go over numbers and shipments.

Punching the numbers into the calculator for the third time, I try not to crush the flimsy thing under my touch.

The house usually stays quiet. I have no neighbors, the main road is far away, and my staff knows not to interrupt my work with noise. That’s why I’m so surprised when I hear a soft melody carry through the usually silent space.

Perking up, I drop the pen and leave the calculator behind as I get up from my leather office chair. Like a child called by the pied piper, I am moving without thought. The lovely melody hypnotizes me and urges me to follow it, beckoning me closer.

When I open the door leading to the hallway, the sound of someone playing the piano becomes louder and even more bewitching.

Briskly, I make my way through the house and to the music room, where the sound is the loudest.
