I couldn’t even be envious of Jordan grinding against him, not only because I knew it was all in fun, but because Alex held my gaze nearly the entire time, as if he were putting on a private performance for me. I wanted to drag him out of the club, take him to my bed, and lick him from head to toe. Goddamn it, I was growing hard right in the middle of the bar. Not that I really had to hide it here. There was plenty of action going on in darkened corners.

I moved out of the way of customers trying to get the bartender’s attention, but there were too many people to navigate around. A guy bumped into me, apologized, then looked me up and down.

“Hey, gorgeous.” His gaze fixed on the bulge in my jeans. “How about you let me take care of that for you?”

He was an attractive guy, and the idea of a blowjob undeniably cranked me up, but only if it was Alex down on his knees for me again.

When I shook my head, he frowned and leaned forward to whisper in my ear, “That’s too bad. Maybe later.”

My gaze searched for Alex again, and when our eyes met, he smirked, obviously having observed the interaction. But I also noticed other emotions in his expression—wariness and maybe even jealousy. I’d admit, I liked seeing it, even though it could lead nowhere good.

I watched as he motioned to Jordan and the others, and they headed my way.

“So glad you’re here,” Alex said as soon as he reached me, and I appreciated the bald honestly. It was refreshing, and maybe that was why I wanted to keep seeing him whenever I had the opportunity. Not only because we had history, but because we weren’t pretending this was something it wasn’t. This was just us, hanging out in the moment, enjoying each other’s company.

“Me too.” I winked. When I got jostled by someone again, I muttered, “Mostly.”

He laughed as he motioned to Jordan, who’d gone to the bar to order some refreshments. The others in the group were varying degrees of sweaty, but they were all smiles, so they must’ve been having a good time. Thankfully, my bulge had relaxed by then, so I wouldn’t embarrass myself in front of them.

“Nice costume,” I said, trying hard not to swallow Alex with my eyes.

“You ain’t seen nothing yet,” Jordan replied as he handed Alex his soda.

I cocked an eyebrow as Alex’s ears turned even pinker, and I almost asked but was interrupted by Steve, who’d come over to corral the group.

“Are all the baby gays having fun?” he asked, and I burst out laughing.

“Seriously?” I mouthed to Alex, who rolled his eyes, along with a couple of the female members, who were holding hands, so they must’ve been together. Or only discovered each other tonight because why not? Jordan seemed like he wanted to discover Steve, the way his eyes constantly tracked him. I’d heard around campus that Steve was a big player. Not that I knew what Jordan was interested in—maybe he was just into one night as well. Or maybe they’d already hooked up plenty and, like Alex and me, couldn’t seem to stop going back for more. None of my business.

“I’m heading back out there,” Steve announced as if he was the entertainment director, and maybe he was, the way the others downed their drinks and followed him out.

“Wanna dance?” Alex asked with a hopeful glint in his eye.

“Nah, I’ll just observe from a safe distance.” I leaned forward. “I like watching you.”

He made a frustrated sound. “Okay, you don’t play fair.”

“And you do?” I chuckled, eyeing him.

“Ready?” Jordan nudged him, and Alex nodded.

Just as they were about to head out, Alex swung around. “Will you hold my jacket so I don’t lose it?”

“Of course.” Once I took it from him, I slipped my arms through it so it wasn’t dragged or stepped on or anything. The material was warm and soft, obviously broken in from use. But when I angled my head and sniffed the lapel, it smelled like him. Perfect.

“What?” I asked, realizing Alex was staring at me with a wistfulness in his eyes.

“It looks good on you,” he said, adjusting the hem against my waist.

I grimaced. “Don’t get any ideas.”

“Well, you did go to a football game, which I still can’t believe.”

“You and me both.”

As soon as I shifted, I realized his jacket was a bit of a tight fit in the shoulders. I’d need to be careful so I didn’t tear it.

“By the way, I wouldn’t be caught dead in this thing if it wasn’t yours.”

He cracked a smile. “Thank you for your sacrifice.”

I leaned forward. “You’re welcome, Chlorine Boy.”

“Would you mind holding mine too?” Jordan asked from behind Alex.

“What am I, a coatrack?” I huffed an overly exaggerated breath.
