Carter’s gaze jumped between the three of us before he cocked his head and frowned. “I’m not trying to insult anyone, but he’s going to need to know who’s going to be using it so he gets the size part right.”

Good point.

Why Carter’s gaze settled on me, I’d never know, so I shrugged and looked at Daddy. He wasn’t helpful either. Daddy just shrugged and looked at Cohen, who sighed again. “Taking you two shopping is like a Who’s on First skit. I’m just going to start showing up with random BDSM furniture in the future.”

Thank god.

But I knew that wasn’t the response I needed to give out loud. “No, Uncle Cohen, we’ll be good.”

Wyatt giggled as Carter nodded and smirked. “That was very believable. Well done.”

Daddy laughed. “He’s been getting Eli training. It’s quite impressive.”

No giggling.

No giggling.

I aimed wide eyes at Wyatt and shrugged. “I don’t know what they’re talking about, but you have very pretty furniture.”

Wyatt giggled and decided playing along was his best bet. “Thank you. I don’t know what they’re talking about either. I think we’re just too sweet to understand.”

Daddy managed not to laugh, but it took considerable effort to look at Cohen and stay on track. “Size. Yes, I think that’s what we were talking about?”

“Yes.” Cohen was better at not laughing and giving a dry response, but I could see the smirk he barely held back as he turned to Carter.

“Let’s assume that we need something that will accommodate subs of varied sizes.” Cohen crossed his arms over his chest and shot Daddy a look that said he was supposed to behave. “I think we’ll probably need that.”

Unsurprisingly, Daddy grinned. “I think so too. You’re very smart, Sir.”

Carter grinned, shaking his head. “It’s got to be something in the water.”

Possibly…because I was pretty sure Daddy hadn’t been this cheeky until he’d found us.

“So, let me know if I’m overstepping here, but you’re a switch?” Carter gave Bishop a questioning look from his perch on a wooden crate, but Daddy just smiled as he leaned against another, nodding as we watched Cohen and Wyatt sink even deeper into a discussion on wood quality and something about stains.

Greek would’ve been easier to understand.

I had a feeling Daddy was grateful for the distraction so he didn’t have to pretend to be interested in Cohen and Wyatt’s discussion either. “It’s not overstepping. Honestly, I’ve been around the guys at Leashes & Lace too much and I forgot you guys might not know.”

Chuckling, I shook my head. “It’s not L and L’s fault. Daddy’s always that open.”

That had him flashing a teasing grin at me and shrugging. “Possibly.”

As Carter laughed quietly, I explained again since the first time had been a bit confusing with all the teasing going on. “Daddy is my Daddy and Cohen’s pup and sub. I’m just a sub because anything else is way too complicated and I like being little.”

“I would have to agree, but one of Wesley’s Master’s brothers…” Carter winced and shook his head. “God, say that five times fast…he’s in a relationship that’s similar. No pup or little stuff, though.”

It was Bishop’s turn to look questioningly at Carter. “How do you know so much about their family? Aren’t you the office manager or something? Do they overshare like the Leashes & Lace guys do?”

Had Carter said what he did?

He was some kind of handler at the very least, but I’d been too distracted to remember what he’d said earlier.

Carter grinned and shook his head. “No, we’ve been friends forever, and I’m like Wyatt’s BDSM brother-in-law. My boyfriend slash Dom is one of his Master’s brothers. There’s like a herd of them.”

Oh.

“That makes sense.” But looking around the room again, I still wasn’t sure that answered why he was there. “But what do you do here then?”

“Nothing.” Carter beamed. “I’m just the go-between when things get awkward and we had plans to go to a flea market thing later.”

Huh.

“Oh, the antique one up at the fairgrounds?” Bishop leaned forward, more excited about that than he had been about the stain and wood. “I heard there were problems getting some of the vendors this year.”

This wasn’t as boring as the wood, so I relaxed and watched Carter swing his legs as they chatted about vendors and some woman in Georgia who’d gotten caught selling fake antiques. The topic wasn’t necessarily what I was passionate about, but they had good gossip and Bishop was wonderfully excited.

When they finally ran out of recent news and stories about people they seemed to know in common, Carter cocked his head again. “Where do you work? I don’t remember seeing you at any of the recent auctions.”

Daddy shrugged as some of his excitement faded. “I don’t. I’m in between jobs right now, but I was raised around antiques. But what do you do?”
