My bad.

It also morphed into this therapeutic release for me, much like Confession Duet did back in 2015, when real-life Dr. Walker assigned me the task of writing myself a sort-of closure to my past. With Plant Daddy though, it was fun to write and put everything I’ve gone to therapy for down on paper.

Because we should totally document all our crazy, right? 👀

Turns out, yes! At least in this case, because that’s where my fault was overshadowed by that of my amazing readers.

If I thought it was startling, the number of women who connected with my heroines across all twenty-something of my books, that doesn’t even begin to touch on the staggering amount of you who messaged, commented, emailed, said in your reviews—any way you could possibly let me know—that you’d never related to a character more than Sienna before.

Quite the plot twist when I totally released Part 1 thinking, Welp, gonna have to warn people this was a passion project I wrote just for myself, so I could read about a character like me, since I’m weird and don’t know anyone who’s brain is like mine.

I’m serious as a heart attack, y’all. I wasn’t going to necessarily unpublish it, but I was really thinking about not even putting any sort of effort into spreading the word about PD1. Because while it was cathartic and fun to write and I was proud of the words I’d written, I was also super embarrassed to show the world how truly “ain’t right in the head” I am. And it was too late to be all “she’s a totally fictional character.”

Nope, I made it perfectly clear Sienna is me. Totally coocoo for Cocoa Puffs… right down to dedicating the book to one of the voices inside my head.

Like… who freaking does that?! 🤦🏼‍♀️

But then the messages and reviews started rolling in, and I was a sobbing mess for an entire month, reading and listening to all my readers saying this was THE book. This was the story they’d been dying to read all their lives, because it had a heroine just like them. It wasn’t a storyline about a woman with this quirky little “character flaw” that was touched on sporadically throughout the book.

No, that’s not how real mental illness works.

It dictates every thought inside our head and every word out of our mouth, and that’s how I wrote it.

That’s why it took over fifty thousand words just to introduce you to the characters and set the scene, and by the end of Part 1, Sienna hadn’t even met Felix in person yet!

Usually by fifty thousand words, my characters are already balls-deep and on their way to their happily ever after.

But Sienna isn’t that lucky.

Girl gotta overthink every… fucking… thing.

Just like me.

And, I discovered, just like tons of you.

So this has been another 792 words (so far) to tell you, dearest reader, that this book is NOT the end it was supposed to be. In fact, this is still only the beginning. And for those of you who said you hoped their story would never end because you could read about them for the rest of your life… I’ve got you, boo.

I’ve decided—

Nope. Scratch that.

Sienna and Felix have decided to turn their standalone romance into an entire spin-off for themselves.

Felix is demanding like that. *smirks

It will take my readers on Sienna’s full journey of balling up everything she’s always been told was wrong with her and embracing every last bit of it like an extra-soft stuffie.

With the help of a delicious doctor Dominant blessed with a neurodiversity that allows him to see through all social norms, she’ll truly be able to shed all the negativity the world loaded onto her shoulders. This is something I feel is important to put out there in the world, and to do it right, to make it really hit different, that can’t be done properly in one little book. Because if you guys really are like me, if you truly think the way I think and crave all the information you can get in order to use it as ammo against the voices inside your head, then there can’t be any skipping ahead in the timeline. There can’t be any “Six weeks later” and suddenly she’s a brand-new person.

No. We need to read every single second of what happens as if it’s a step-by-step guide on How to Start Loving Your Hot-Mess Self.

So I present to you, Plant Daddy: Part 2, which completes Plant Daddy—Book 1 in Sienna’s spin-off of the Club Alias Series. A spin-off that will now be known as The Submissive Diaries.

You guessed it—a nod to my very first trilogy, The Blogger Diaries, where my crazy real-life journey as a hot-mess author began.

I hope you’ll stick around for the ride. After all, I always have loved rollercoasters. Ask Vi.
