“Like a log.” I tilted my face up to smile at him. “You wore me out.”
“Fuck yeah, I did.” His lips curved into a smug grin. “And if I didn’t have to drop you off at work before I head to the stadium for practice, I’d do it all over again.”
“Oh crap.” I got to my knees on the mattress and stared down at the pile of rumpled clothes on the floor. “I have to be at work at eight, and I don’t have anything clean to wear.”
“Don’t worry, baby. I’ll take care of it,” he reassured as he twisted around to grab his phone off the bedside table. He tapped at the screen for a few minutes and then pulled me back into his arms after he set it down. “A few new outfits will be dropped off in the next hour.”
I tilted my head back to stare at him. “Just like that?”
“I hate to admit it with you looking at me like I just accomplished the impossible, but there’s an app for just about anything.” He stroked his thumb across my cheekbone. “Especially when you live in New York.”
He made an excellent point, but that still didn’t explain how easily he was able to order clothes for me. “Except how did you know my sizes?”
“Baby, I touched and licked every inch of your body.” He stroked his palm up my back, sending goose bumps in the wake of his touch. “I know your curves better than anyone.”
My cheeks heated at the reminder of everything he did to me last night. “But women’s jeans aren’t easy to fit because the brands are all different.”
“No worries.” He jerked his chin toward the clothes on the floor. “I got you the same kind, just in different colors.”
“How in the heck did you even notice my size with how quickly you took them off?” I laughed and shook my head.
“What can I say?” He shrugged. “You have to be observant and quick thinking to be a quarterback.”
Considering how he seemed to know exactly where to touch me last night, I could personally attest to how observant he was. “I’d like to see you in action on the field someday.”
“How about this Sunday? We have a home game, and it’ll be the perfect time for you to meet more of the wives and girlfriends of my teammates.” My lips pursed as I thought about how out of place I would feel, knowing that everyone thought our relationship was real when we were just pretending. Although that line had definitely blurred now that I’d given him my virginity…without a condom. Mistaking the reason behind my hesitation, he added, “And if Dakota hasn’t had the baby yet, I’m sure she’ll be there. It’s the only way Ames can sort of keep an eye on her while he’s on the field. Renata and Austin might even be there if one of the grandparents can make it.”
My brows drew together as I asked, “That’s only two days away. Are there even any tickets left?”
“I wasn’t kidding when I said the Nighthawks owner was all about family. Lennox keeps a suite open for our significant others and kids when they’d prefer something a little more private, and I’ve never taken advantage of it. Hell, I’ve never even asked for tickets for anyone other than family. He’ll be fucking thrilled when I tell him that my girlfriend is coming to the game,” he assured me.
I took a deep breath and let it out, shaking off my nerves. “Well then, I guess I’ll be there.”
“Awesome.” He claimed my mouth in a deep kiss that left my wits scattered by the time he lifted his head and murmured, “We better get up before I say fuck the starting position so I can spend the day in bed with you.”
It was a good thing he had the willpower to pull away because I was close to forgetting about my new job, and skipping my third day would almost definitely get me fired. “I’ll take a rain check on that plan.”
“Damn straight. And soon,” he growled as he climbed off the mattress and tugged me with him. Giving me a light swat on the butt, he nudged me toward the bathroom. “Go ahead and do whatever you need to prepare for the day until your clothes arrive. Feel free to grab one of my shirts until then while I see what I can scrounge up for breakfast that isn’t my usual egg whites, protein pancakes, oatmeal, or protein shake.”
“I’m not much of an eater first thing in the morning.” My stomach chose that exact moment to let out a low growl, making a liar of me. “Except today, apparently.”
Brady wagged his brows. “That makes sense. After all, I gave you one hell of a workout last night.”
