“Little girl. You’re breaking my heart. I don’t think you’ve figured out that I’m keeping you forever.”

“This can’t last. People don’t get to live as Littles. I’m going to miss you so much.” Muffled by his shirt, Ellie pushed out the words between sobs from her hiding spot under his jaw.

Scared he would think she was too needy, Ellie covered her mouth with one hand to stifle the sound and tried to force herself to stop crying. Enough! He’s going to send me back to that lonely apartment.

“Rainbow, you’re going to make yourself sick.” His hands stroked down her back to pat her bottom. “I will spank you if that’s what it takes to get your attention.”

When she shook her head against him, he stroked up her spine and rubbed back and forth over her ribcage. “Breathe with me. In,” he commanded, audibly inhaling and lifting her body slightly as his chest rose.

After a split-second pause, she followed his directions.

“Good girl. Out.” Garrett again guided her with an exaggerated exhale. He continued to breathe with her as if he had all the time in the world.

Slowly, Ellie felt herself relax against his chest. Tears still leaked from her eyes, but her heart rate slowed from the earlier panicked flutter. “I’m so silly.”

“You absolutely are not. This is one hundred percent my fault. I am very sorry.” His voice was husky with emotion.

Surprised, Ellie sat up to look at his face. A slow tear slid from the corner of his eye to disappear in his thick hair. “Don’t cry, Daddy,” she urged, reaching one suspiciously damp hand forward to wipe away the moisture.

“I have not taken care of you as I should have, Rainbow. Daddies get scared sometimes, too. I hoped you would decide that this was the place you wanted to stay. It’s my fault that I didn’t talk to you directly.”

“You get scared, too?”

“Losing you frightens me the most. You stole part of my heart at our first meeting as you danced and baked like no one was watching.”

“No one was supposed to be watching, Daddy,” she reminded him, feeling her cheeks warm.

His hand cupped her cheek. “I found you absolutely adorable then. And I find you even more desirable now. Being your Daddy, taking care of you, and nurturing your Little is all I want to do. It’s all I’ve ever wanted.”

“You take very good care of me.”

“I let the uncertainty make you unhappy. How about if I tell you exactly how I see my future?”

“O… Okay.” She stumbled over the word.

“You move the rest of your stuff into the basement or a storage area and live full-time with me for the rest of your life.”

“That sounds like a very long commitment.”

“Forever, Little girl. I love you and want my Little girl with me. Could you see yourself happy here?”

“Are we going to get married?”

“If you’d like. I’ll propose now if you want. I love you, Ellie Willmoth.”

“I love you, too, Daddy.”

Ellie threw herself forward to press a million kisses on his face. “I don’t care if we get married. I just want to be with you.”

“Then, we close up your apartment this weekend and give your notice. You won’t be able to walk to work from my house. I’ll make sure you get there every day and pick you up. Or we can get you a safe car to drive if you need to be independent,” he suggested, arching one eyebrow.

Giggling at his silly face, Ellie shook her head. “I hate driving. Besides, that’s your job as a Daddy, right?”

“Right,” he confirmed with a nod. “Daddies take care of their Littles however they need to be looked after.”

She leaned forward to press her mouth against his in a tender kiss filled with all the emotions swirling around inside her. Lifting her head, she stared at him, trying to see if there were any signs of doubt in his mind.

Reading her mind, Garrett dispelled any lingering negative thoughts haunting her brain. “I’m not going to change my mind. You’re mine, Little girl. Besides, you make good naked cupcakes. I have to keep you around. No one else makes them.”

“Those sell like hot cakes to the yoga ladies when they come out of the studio next door!” Ellie squirmed slightly on top of him as she got excited.

“Shh, Little girl. No plotting world cupcake domination before bedtime. That can wait until you get to the store tomorrow. Here, you’re my precious Rainbow.”

His stern voice wiped all the zinging thoughts from her mind. Ellie laid her head on his shoulder and breathed with him. Nestling her nose against him, she inhaled the fresh manly scent that was her Daddy’s alone. As the chair rocked smoothly below her, the familiar routine soothed and relaxed her.

A large yawn stretched her mouth wide. Settling happily into place, she patted her Daddy’s chest. “My Daddy.”
