“We have to make an appearance at the reception,” I grumbled. “Or my mother will skin me alive. I’d rather take you back to my suite and fuck you until you pass out.”

“Would you stop cursing in church?” she hissed. “It’s bad enough I had to sit through that ceremony without any panties on!”

I grinned. “Yeah, I was extremely grateful for this sash because I kept thinking about your bare, wet pussy…such easy access, and it made me hard as fuck.”

Dani tossed her hands in the air and muttered, “You’re impossible.”

“It must be hereditary,” Isa sighed as she came to stand next to Dani. “I say the same thing about Philippe. Hi, I’m Isabella. Philippe’s fiancée.”

“Oh! Hi!” Dani grinned. “I’m happy to meet you!” Then she placed her hand on Isa’s arm and leaned in to say something in her ear. Isa laughed, and Dani winked at her before Philippe appeared and whisked his fiancée away.

“What did you say to Isa?”

“Wouldn’t you like to know?” Dani quipped with a smirk.

“Such sass,” I murmured in her ear. “Are you trying to earn a spanking?”

She looked up at me through her lashes, but she didn’t respond.

My girl was definitely in the mood to be punished. But I let the subject of her secret with Isa drop for now. She’d tell me before the night was through.

We exited the church, and when Dani saw the crowd, she retreated into herself. “You look gorgeous, princesse. Stop feeling self-conscious.”

Her cheeks turned pink, and she smiled at me as we descended the steps and climbed into the waiting carriage. I pulled her into my side and settled back for the ride, not caring that I was supposed to be waving and whatever to the public.

When we reached the castle, the footman who opened the door helped Dani from the carriage, then murmured to me as I followed. “I was told to tell you to take your fiancée to your sister’s suite before going to the reception.”

It shouldn’t have surprised me considering her antics with Isa. I was sure Céline was chomping at the bit to meet Dani.

When we arrived, I knocked on the door, and when it opened, I was nearly knocked over by a gaggle of the cutest kids in the world.

“Uncle Tristan!”

I laughed and swung them around a few times, making them scream excitedly. When I set them down, both girls and their brother started talking simultaneously, making my head spin.

“Kids! Give Uncle Tristan a break!” Timothée scolded as he walked out into the hall. He smiled at Dani and held out his hand. “Hello, I’m Céline’s husband, Timothée. We’ve been very excited to meet you, Dani.”

“Dani’s out there?” Céline shouted from inside the suite. In seconds, she was shoving past her husband and throwing her arms around my princess. “Welcome!! I’ve been dying to meet you. Come with me, come with me,” she said, ushering Dani inside.

I started to follow, but Céline pivoted and pointed a finger at me. “Not you.”

If she hadn’t given me that pouty face that had always made Phillipe and I suckers when we were younger, I would have forced my way in. I just got Dani back, I didn’t like being away from her. Who was I kidding? I would never like being more than a few feet from her.

But since my sister had perfected the puppy dog eyes, I sighed and backed up to lean against the wall across from the door.

“So?” I asked Timothée. “How does it feel to be king?”

He blew out a breath and ran his hand through his hair. “Honestly? Surreal. It wasn’t something I ever expected, so now, I’m just trying to get used to it. But Céline has some amazing ideas, and I look forward to helping her with those.”

“Don’t sell yourself short, Timothée,” I said as I clapped him on the shoulder. “The best part about making our sister queen was that she came as a package deal. You both bring out the best in each other, and I know you will always have this country’s best interest at heart.”

“Thanks,” he said, looking a little relieved.

Philippe and Isa walked up and looked at us curiously.

Timothée smiled at Isa. “Céline has requested that you join her and Dani in her suite.” Then he looked at Philippe, who was about to follow his fiancée. “The Queen has ordered you to stay put.”

Phillip’s eyes went wide, and his jaw dropped. “She can’t—”

I snorted and interrupted him. “Oh, yes, she can. You aren’t the Crown Prince any longer.”

“I…uh…forgot.”

For the first time in my entire life, I saw a little tinge of pink on my brother’s cheeks. “Putain de merde,” I said with a chuckle. He was blushing!

Philip tossed a scathing glare my way, and I just smiled.

We chatted for a while, though it felt like fucking hours. Finally, when I was ready to bust in and see what the hell they were doing, the door opened.
