The woman nodded.

“I’d like to pay them off as quickly as possible,” Abby continued. “And save a little money at the same time. Not a lot jobs pay that well.”

The woman smiled. “No. Not around here. And not in this economy. Have you done this kind of work before?”

“No. But I knew someone who did. In another city. She said it pays well and the agency takes care of almost everything.”

“True. We book your appointments for you. And bill the client. We give you a paycheck, courtesy of Blue Orchid Floral Services, which you don’t have to hide from the IRS. Of course, any tips you make are yours to keep.”

Abby nodded enthusiastically.

“We’ll need to set you up with our photographer, for head and body shots.”

Abby made a small noise of protest. Helen raised her hand. Absolutely nothing is available online. We keep portfolios here, which the clients are able to look through at their leisure. They choose from the book and we make the appointment. There will be total anonymity for you. You’ll even choose a stage name so that none of the clients know your real name.”

Abby settled back into the chair, trying to appear appeased by this explanation.

“Now that we’ve gone through the basics. I’d like to get a better idea of what we’ll be offering.”

It took Abby a moment before she realized Helen wanted her to stand up. She put her purse on the chair and stood in front of Helen, squaring her shoulders.

“Can you take your hair down, please?”

Abby reached up and shook out her hair, letting it fall across her shoulders. Helen waved her hand slightly and Abby unbuttoned her blazer. She draped it across the chair behind her. Helen waited, expectantly, and Abby drew in a deep breath. She was reminded of Sabrina’s visit and the jangle of nerves she’d felt when she’d been in this situation before. But she’d survived once, and she could do it again. Running out now might make Helen suspicious, and if Helen called Kessler to say a mysterious redhead had come through the doors for an ‘interview’ it could end badly.

Abby slowly unzipped her skirt and pushed it down over her hips. She stepped out of it and placed it on the chair as well. She unbuttoned her blouse and shrugged it off. She stood in front of Helen in her high heels, thigh high stockings, panties, and bra.

“Very nice,” Helen commented.

Abby turned around without being asked.

“You do anal?” Helen asked, with no small hint of surprised. Abby tried to hide her blush as she realized Helen could see the base of her plug. She cleared her throat.

“Yes, ma’am.”

“A pleasant surprise.”

Abby finished her turn and Helen gestured for her to take her bra down. Abby took hold of the straps and revealed her breasts to the older woman, who merely nodded in approval.

“I’ll set you up with the photographer on Friday,” Helen declared. “We have a small room here. I’ll also book you with a long-time client for Saturday night. He enjoys reviewing our new talent for us.”

Abby suppressed the urge to gag. Everybody wants a hooker, but only on their first day.

She quickly got re-dressed and left the office. The receptionist handed her an appointment card, that Abby took only to keep up the charade, but she tossed it directly into the garbage can outside the building’s front doors. She flopped into the driver’s seat of her car and took a deep, steadying breath. That had definitely been more than she’d bargained for. She didn’t want to return to the Custer right now and it was too early to go home. So she cranked the engine of her toyota and headed across town.

She pulled into the gravel lot of Burnout and parked beside Mark’s Hummer. She got out and headed to the garage. Easy spotted her first and waved at her. As she stepped from the crushed stone onto the concrete, Mark crossed to her and leaned in to give her a kiss, careful to keep his dirty hands off her.

“Hey, baby,” he said. “What’s up?”

“Nothing,” she replied. “I was just...around...and thought I’d see you.

Shooter came into the bay from the office. “Need more parts for your car, Vegas?” he called out.

She smiled and shook her head. “Not today,” she called back.

It seemed deceitful and wrong not to tell Mark what had happened. Plus, she was still kind of weirded out by the whole thing.

“You okay, Vegas?” Hawk asked. Mark continued to gaze at her.

She cleared her throat. “I had a job interview today,” she declared.

Mark frowned. “I thought you loved the hotel.”

“I do! I’m not taking the job. I just went to check the place out and I ended up having an interview, instead.”

“For what?”

Abby cleared her throat again. “Escort.”

Mark’s eyes narrowed. Hawk, Shooter, and Easy stopped what they were doing and stepped a little closer.
