He tightened his grip on her hips, and got her to fuck him harder and faster. It felt so good. Darcy didn’t care who saw them, or who heard them. All she cared about was mating with her man.

Suddenly, Joe turned them so that he was on top, and she was at his mercy. She didn’t care. She wanted to be with him, and she didn’t want it to stop.

“You’re mine,” he said, growling the words against her flesh.

“Mine.” She repeated the words, and then she felt him coming, and she joined him in bliss, knowing there was no turning back.

Chapter Nine

“Dude, have you forgotten who your friends are?”

Joe looked up to see Ryan and Wade coming toward him. He sat on one of the town square’s benches, eating a sandwich, waiting for his dad to return. The night before had been amazing. He had spent the whole night with his mate. They had made love and fucked in the forest, and when they got back to her place, they had done it all over again.

“No, I’ve not forgotten,” Joe said.

He’d not spent any time with Wade and Ryan since he got back. The truth was, he’d been pissed to find out they had lied to him about the transition. If they hadn’t acted so fucking cool about it, he wouldn’t have felt so inadequate. The other little factor, there was only one person he wanted to spend his time with, and that was Darcy.

Hanging out with his friends who were only interested in fucking random women didn’t appeal to him.

He loved being with his mate. His soul mate. His woman.

Wade pressed a hand to his heart. “You wound me. That means you’re ignoring us.”

Joe was fast losing his appetite. Yes, he had been ignoring them. His mother had told him they’d left messages to go to the bar, to hang out, or to call back. He just hadn’t.

“I’ve been busy. Alpha stuff.”

“Come on, man, that has never stopped you in the past,” Ryan said.

“I know but I’m taking it more seriously now than before.”

Ryan and Wade shared a look. “Your dad is going to be around for a long time, man. You’ve got years to learn, and we need you. Do you realize how many chicks we could screw with you by our side? You’re like the ultimate panty drop.” This was Ryan.

Joe ran a hand down his face. “No can do.” The scent of vanilla filled his senses and he looked behind him to see Darcy.

This is why he’d decided to come and eat in the town square. She told him she heard from Kelly that her son had gone through his transition, and it hadn’t gone well. She held a tray in her hands. She’d been baking the brownie squares to take to the young man.

She glanced toward him and offered him a smile. His wolf perked right up.

Damn, she looked so good. She wore a long, ankle-length skirt and a pair of sandals that seemed to tease at the ankles. The shirt was a little too big, but he saw those nice, large tits he loved to suck on. She looked amazing, and he wanted her so badly. His cock started to thicken.

That morning they had shared a shower, and he’d spent a good hour making love to her. He just couldn’t get enough of her.

“There goes Miss Fucking Boring,” Ryan said.

Joe tensed up.

“I heard she can’t fuck anyone as she puts dicks to sleep.”

He couldn’t take that. They were talking shit about his mate, and he reacted. First, he slammed his fist into Wade’s face, and then he kicked Ryan in the balls.

The attack took him by surprise. His friends didn’t have time to defend themselves. Grabbing the back of their necks, they didn’t fight him as he dragged them toward Darcy, who looked at him with wide eyes.

“Apologize, now!” He felt his wolf rising, threatening to take over. The whole town seemed to go silent.

Joe couldn’t explain the rage that had swept over him, but he couldn’t stop it.

“Dude?” Wade asked.

Ryan didn’t question him and immediately apologized. He let Ryan go, and his friend scampered away. Wade took his time, and his wolf wanted to tear him limb from limb, so he wrapped his fingers around Wade’s throat.

“Joe, stop,” Darcy said.

At the sound of her voice, he loosened his hold on Wade’s neck.

“Son, release him.”

“Not until he apologizes,” Joe said.

Wade did so, and Joe held him for several more seconds, not wanting to let him go, but then reality set in as he realized the pack had seen him lose control.

He turned to his father.

“Come with me, now,” William said.

Joe looked back toward Darcy, and he knew he had fucked up big time. He didn’t argue with his father, and followed him. He sensed Darcy’s distress, and he hoped she delivered the brownies.
