Dune stood and made his way onto the dance floor. His heart was pounding as he approached her, but he was ready for this moment; he had been waiting for it all night. As soon as his hands found her hips, he pulled her to him, letting her feel what she had done to him.

The music was fast and frenetic, the bass reverberating through the floor and through their bodies. They moved together, their eyes locked, his hands guiding her as they spun and swayed in time to the music. Every time they moved closer, the air between them grew heavier and more intense, as if a spark of electricity had passed between them.

And then the music stopped, and they stood there, the energy still coursing through them, unwilling to let go. Dune’s heart was pounding as he looked into her eyes, searching for something, anything, to tell him if this connection was real. Suddenly, the music started again, and but neither of them moved.

Until Caroline broke the silence.

“Take me home.”

Caroline looked deeply into Dune’s eyes and waited for him to respond. She meant the three words that would change everything between them. There was no hiding her feelings for him. Caroline wanted him, and she was certain he wanted her. Except, he took his sweet time responding. Was he in shock? Had she not shown him how much she wanted to be with him all the time?

“I guess it’s a good thing I don’t have a check to pay.”

She laughed at his joke. “Good thing.”

He left her on the dance floor without another word and went to his mom to say goodbye, and then came back toward her. He took her hand and clasped it tightly as they made their way back to her place. Earlier, she didn’t care that they walked. Now she wished he had driven.

Caroline halted when they were in front of the marina. Dune looked over his shoulder at her. She looked from him to the boats and then back at him. The silent exchanged lasted only seconds before they traipsed through the park and to the marina. Dune fumbled with his keys, seemingly nervous. Caroline put her hand over his to calm him. He stilled, inhaled, and finally opened the door to the private dock.

They walked the length of the dock. Water sloshed around them, and she had to be careful where she stepped to avoid getting her heels caught in between the wooden slats. Dune helped her board the yacht, and then he went around and removed the rope from the cleats.

“We’re going out in the water?” she asked.

“I don’t want my parents or brothers coming by,” he told her. It made sense. The last thing she wanted was to be found in a compromising situation. They weren’t even dating, and he had introduced her to his parents. Not that she minded, but it definitely wasn’t the norm.

“Wait,” she blurted out, catching his attention.

“What’s wrong?” Dune was out of breath after running around the boat.

“Us? Are we a violation of some Blue Lobster Adventures policy?”

“Easy, you’re fired,” he said with zero hesitation.

“Wh-what?”

Dune shrugged. “If you’re worried about sleeping with the boss and how it’ll affect your job. It’s simple. You’re fired.”

“Is that what we’re doing? Sleeping?”

Dune stalked toward Caroline. The sway of the boat did not bother his steps. He pushed the ends of her ponytail off her shoulder and then looked into her eyes with the most stoic expression she had seen on him.

“Fucking.”

“Wh-what?” she stammered for the second time in a matter of seconds.

“Care Bear, we’re going to fuck, sleep a little, and then I’m going to make love to you until the sun comes up,” he growled.

“Oh.” Caroline was at a loss for words.

“Believe me, the next time you say ‘Oh,’ it’ll be because I’m making you feel things no man has ever made you feel.”

“Is this where Captain Blue Balls comes out to play? Because I think I’d like to meet him.”

Dune smirked and chuckled. “Yeah, baby. You’re going to see exactly why I have that name.”

After a quick tour of the yacht, Dune went to the helm and pulled out of the marina. Once they were out of the no-wake zone, he opened the throttle and headed toward sea. Dune pulled Caroline in front of him. He moved her hair away from her neck and kissed a path from her shoulder to behind her ear. He pressed his lips against the sensitive spot until a shiver ran down her spine, and then he brushed his thumb up and down her arm. She felt his warm breath on her skin and a flood of sensations overwhelmed her.

Caroline leaned into Dune as he kept his attention on her neck. His hand slipped under her dress. His fingers lightly trailed up her leg and over her hip until his palm rested against her center. Anticipation spiked and her flesh heated. She pushed into him, feeling his erection against her backside. Caroline reached behind her, wanting to touch him. She palmed his hard-on, rubbing her hand up and down his length.
