Too soon, he sets me back on my feet.

“Now that is a proper reward.” He smacks my ass playfully. “Get the plates before that damn cat goes after the eggs.”

“I already put Misty in the bedroom,” I remind him sassily as I sashay back to the kitchen, Brax trailing after me. Before I make it two feet though, he grabs me hips and pulls my butt against his hard dick.

“Why, is that a banana in your pocket, sir?” I giggle, rubbing my backside against him.

Brax nips at my ear. “I know I just had my way with you less than an hour ago, but what do you say we go for round two? I don’t think your ass is sore enough.”

His hands slide up my body and cup my breasts. I begin to pant heavily, completely aroused by his touch and ready to lose control once more.

“Nah, I don’t think you want it enough,” Brax teases me, pulling at my nipples.

“Hmm, how should I prove that I do?” I purr in an innocent voice, still arching into him.

He inhales sharply. “How about you let me bend you over the table,” he whispers. “Slip into you from behind…” But at that moment, my stomach growls so loud that it sounds like an earthquake. My boyfriend snorts before sighing. “Alright, alright, I’ll let you eat first, but only so you have enough energy to take me afterward.” He pulls my hair back, tilting my head so that I’m facing him.

He kisses me gently. “I love you, Morgs.”

I return his kiss and smile widely, stroking his hair. “I love you too, Brax.”

He gives me a small squeeze and then lets me go. I head to the table to pour the orange juice as Brax grabs the eggs off the stove.

We both sit down and settle into a Sunday routine that has become familiar and perfect. Sometimes it feels as if we’ve been married twenty years, instead of co-habiting for two months.

“So, do you have the Sunday scaries?” I ask Brax as I scoop bacon onto each of our plates.

He chuckles. “Ugh, people are ridiculous with all of these weird phrases.” He shakes his head. “But no, never, because I like going into work with you.”

I laugh. “Yeah, I like it, too. Especially since we finally went public with the fact that we’re together. We are way too flirty all the time—someone was bound to catch on sooner or later.”

Brax nods before smirking again. “What can I say? You just can’t keep your hands off of me.”

“Well…” I jump up without warning and climb into Brax’s lap. He howls and tosses the spoon he was holding back into the egg bowl.

“You better watch it, Morgan,” he whispers, “or I’m going to plant my seed in you, right here, right now.”

“Hmmm,” I purr, rubbing my womanhood against his rising cock. “Is that a promise?”

Brax grabs my hips and holds me against him. “Fuel up, now.” But he doesn’t let me go immediately. Instead, he rubs his face against my low-cut tank top, trying to free my boobs. The stubble is a pleasant burn and I grab his face to make him stop. “Now who wants round two?”

“Sassy. Off. Eat.”

I sidle out of my boyfriend’s lap, dragging my hands down his body until I can’t reach him anymore from my own chair. Then, I settle back and dig into my breakfast with relish. After all, life is perfect these days with its lazy breakfasts, playful banter, and as much adventure as we can squeeze in-between.

I thought it would be hard to trust Brax when he first showed up in New York, but instead, everything feels right.

No, better than right.

Like a fairytale.

We decided after only one week of Brax being in the city that we wanted to move in together. He’d been staying in a hotel, but “staying” is a misnomer because we fell into my bed immediately. We couldn’t get enough of each other, and that man barely left my bedroom for his first seven days in New York. So it made sense for him to move in, and slowly, we’re making a home of it, filling the apartment with pieces of life from before and the life that we’re building together.

It took almost no time to find our rhythm, each of us eager to know as much about the other so that we could do everything in our power to make this unexpected relationship work. I’ll admit that I was nervous that the city would wear on Brax because Manhattan isn’t for everyone. But instead, he’s embraced its vibrancy. Some weekends, when he needs nature, we escape to Long Island, or Westchester, or even New Jersey. Our short excursions help keep us both centered.

“What are you smiling about?” Brax asks, reaching across the table to hold my hand, his other one shoveling food into his mouth.
