A source close to the former couple has finally spoken on the condition of anonymity. Tsaldaris had apparently been diagnosed with infertility, and the news had the billionaire suffering from depression and suicidal thoughts. His refusal to seek professional help eventually led to Rubio asking for time apart, which Tsaldaris consequently read as an act of betrayal.

Their unintended breakup is a decision both parties now regret, and our source firmly believes that the billionaire's recent marriage is no love match. "That woman's a gold-digger. She targeted him, plain and simple. She knew he was vulnerable, so she used her innocent son to tempt him with the promise of fatherhood.'

Divorce is reportedly imminent, but Rubio is said to be worried over her ex. The married couple has not signed any prenup, and the current wife is determined to take advantage of this oversight. 'She's going to bleed him dry if she can get away with it.'

Betsy was having breakfast with Lukas and David in her husband's office when his assistant knocked on his door and alerted them about the newest rumor circulating the Internet. And while the article had only been live for a couple of minutes, it had already been shared a couple of hundred times, and the comments posted on the page were even worse.

He probably married the new wifey just to give himself an heir.

Can't say I blame him for being depressed. Imagine having a pair of balls but not being able to make anything out of it.

I'm betting there's already a spinoff in the works: Rich Divorced Housewives of Athens. Guess who's going to be the queen bee?

A nod from the billionaire had Julie making up an excuse about taking D to the pantry in search of kid-friendly treats, and as soon as it was only the two of them, Lukas reached for his wife's hand in a bid to have her look at him.

"I'm sorry," he said harshly. "I had hoped for you and David to see the best of my homeland, but it is not right that you have to deal with this—-"

"This isn't your fault, Lukas." She meant every word, having now realized that the court of public opinion was a battleground that favored the rich and famous. Clearing up rumors - or inventing them in this case - was a matter of paying the right price, but such tactics held no appeal to Betsy at all.

Lukas couldn't tell if his wife was only hiding her hurt, but either way, it was his responsibility to protect her from such trash, and he had failed to do so.

"I'll have this article taken down immediately. You have my word—-"

"I'm honestly not affected," Betsy said soothingly. "So please don't bother yourself with this."

While she genuinely cared about whether people realized she didn't have her panties on her wedding day (that was a secret best kept between Betsy and her husband), what they spoke of her character was inconsequential.

But her husband, though...

Oh no.

Lukas started when his wife suddenly reached for his hand.

"Are you okay about this?" Betsy asked worriedly. "You told me before that you didn't want others to know—-" She broke off, having noticed the way her husband was staring at her in disbelief. "What?"

"Did you read the same article I did?" Lukas could not believe she was concerned for him when most of the lies in the article were about her.

Betsy's heart squeezed when she realized just how incensed her husband was on her behalf...to the point that he no longer cared about the things that used to matter to him.

Had he not once told her that he had been determined to show the world that he could make a woman happy even without giving her a child? This article was insinuating the contrary, but it was as if this hadn't even occurred to Lukas. All he cared about was her, and that could only mean one thing.

Lukas couldn't help feeling wary when his wife's face suddenly lit up. "Are you alright?" he asked seriously. Why did she now look so full of hope when this article had portrayed her as a scheming gold-digger?

"There's something I've always wanted to ask you, but I never got to," Betsy confessed, "because I was afraid of what you'd say."

Lukas frowned. "What is this about?"

"I wondered if you were ever in love with your ex or if you're still in love with her, and that's why—-"

The way his lip had already curled at the very idea had Betsy biting back a laugh. I'm sorry, God. I know this isn't something to laugh about, but he's just so...cute.

"I only meant to marry her because marriage was the ideal way for her family's company and mine to merge. That's it."

"Got it," Betsy was quick to affirm at the sound of contempt that laced her husband's tone, "and I promise we'll never talk about her again."
