Willa will obviously deliver her child first, but not too long before me. It means Rex and our kids will grow up together. Being that I was an only child, until Rex came along, I know how important that will be to those kids.
My mind is filled with future playdates and birthday parties.
A lifetime of happiness with the Parks.
Rex starts to cry in Spencer’s arms from beside me. I take my baby brother, attempt to comfort him, and then pass him to my right. Hugo holds him in a special way that he seems to love because he settles down.
Spencer squeezes my thigh under the table and flashes me a wolfish grin. “Wanna sneak out and go make a baby?”
His teasing makes my heart skip a few beats. There are a few family members, like Dempsey, who know the truth of our secret threesome, but it’s not exactly discussed openly. I’m not ready to have that conversation with anyone right now. Maybe not ever. This family protects each other, so it’s not like we’d be in any sort of trouble. It doesn’t mean I want everyone knowing, though. Deep down, I know Spencer also feels this way, but he just likes to taunt me to watch me squirm.
“Behave,” I say, narrowing my eyes. “You’re at a family dinner.”
He smirks. “Yeah, leech, but our family is a little fucked-up.”
I bump his shoulder with mine, totally ignoring his silly request, and get pulled into a conversation with Gemma on the other side of Spencer.
This family might be a little fucked-up, but they’re my family.
And I’ll never let them go.
