I heard his orders loud and clear and shed my armor and weapons. I got down to my bare skin then straddled his narrow hips. His large hands immediately kneaded my ass as he lay there. Then they snaked up my body, over my stomach, and latched on to my tits. He squeezed them hard before he flicked his thumbs over the nipples. “Fuck me, baby.” He propped himself up on his elbows, bringing his torso closer to me. “Fuck me hard.”

I rose up and widened my knees before I directed his fat length inside me. I pushed my sheath over his head and sank lower, forcing my body to take his throbbing length. Farther and farther, I sank, going as far as my small body would allow.

He closed his eyes briefly, feeling even more like a king when he was inside me.

I grabbed on to his shoulders and moved up and down, rolling my hips every time he was inside me fully. Whether this was our hundredth time together or our thousandth, it felt like the first time, all the desire bubbling on the surface.

“Harder.” The command in his voice filled the tent as if he’d raised his voice, only he hadn’t.

My speed had been slow because I was getting used to it, letting my body stretch a little more before I quickened my pace. But I followed his orders and moved faster, forgetting about all the horrific bruising on his hard body.

“I said harder.”

I moved even more rapidly, going as fast as I could. I quickly became breathless, felt my skin moisten with sweat. Even that wasn’t enough for him, because he grabbed my hips with his big hands and guided me hard and fast onto his length, fucking me harder than he ever had before.

I couldn’t keep up with the demand and tired out quickly.

He rolled me onto my back and took over, ramming me into the bedroll like I was his favorite whore. He took me so hard it hurt, his hand fisted in my hair, his arm hooked behind one of my knees. He dominated me ruthlessly, like I somehow had forgotten that I was his.

Like he would ever let me forget I was his.

“Pyre.” He was dead asleep in the field, his body curled in a circle with his snout near his tail. His enormous body rose and fell with the deep breaths he took. “Pyre.” I rubbed my hands over his hard scales, trying to gently coax him into waking.

No.

“I know it’s early and we had a long night—”

No.

I gave a loud sigh and watched Huntley approach Storm.

“Let’s go, Storm. We have more people to burn.”

Storm opened one eye then immediately straightened, like he’d gladly get up early to continue his killing spree.

I gave Pyre a shake. “Come on, let’s go kill people.”

His eyes opened, but it was in annoyance. I killed a lot of people. I killed a dragon. Now let me rest.

“I wish I could rest too, but we don’t have the time. We have to move quickly if we want to reach HeartHolme in time.”

Storm must have said something to him because Pyre finally got up.

“You’ll be able to rest as long as you want when this is all over.”

He sat upright and stretched his spine as well as his wings. What’s the plan?

“We’re going to the Teeth. Demand their alliance with the threat of fire.”

What are the Teeth?

“Monsters that live off the blood of humans.”

Can I eat them?

“Sure. Go for it.”

I’ve had a big appetite lately.

“You’ve earned it.” When I looked at Huntley, he was already in the saddle, fully dressed for war.

I climbed up Pyre until I made it into the saddle. My hands gripped the pommel for dear life because it was the only thing keeping me in place when Pyre made sudden dives and unexpected turns. I’d gotten better at it, but one wrong move and I could be bucked off. “Head southwest.”

Pyre jumped from the ground and opened his wings wide, taking to the skies immediately. The smoke had finally blown away after the battle, so there was nothing but clouds and the sun.

Storm did the same and flew beside us.

Once we were above the clouds, it was a whole different world. Just the beaming sun and a sea of blue. Silence stretched for a long time, the two of us just enjoying the flight. Eventually, I spoke. “You did a great job with Regar.”

Wouldn’t have been possible without my brother.

“You worked together, which means it wouldn’t have been possible without you either.”

I guess that’s true.

“How do you feel?”

I’m glad he’s dead. But I still worry about my mother.

“We’ll get to her soon. Once we’ve defeated Necrosis, we’ll have the forces of everyone on the continent. They won’t be able to challenge us.”

I hope so.

The same journey on foot would have taken weeks. Weeks in addition to all the unforeseen obstacles that would make that journey even longer. On the back of a dragon, we had no obstacles, just light and darkness.
