They’ve been looking for you.

I bit my lip and met Lucas’s gaze again. “Letting go these past four years hasn’t been an option. Every day, I think about how easy it would be to give up. No one would miss me anyway. Because that’s the thing. Letting go even for a second would break me. There’s no pause button. There’s play, and there’s stop. If I don’t keep moving—if I don’t…” I let out a ragged breath, my chest tightening. “I can’t allow myself to break, Lucas.”

“You speak in present tense. Letting go doesn’t have that meaning with us, sweetheart. We want you to break. We want you to let go. That’s when you can get to know the little boy trapped inside of you. And he can push play, stop, and pause whenever he wants to, because he’ll know we’re here for him.” He brushed his thumb over my cheek when I sniffled. It felt like my heart was going to explode. My breathing turned shallow, and I couldn’t hold back the tears. For the second time tonight. “We have all the patience, Kit. Don’t force anything. We’ll earn your trust in time. And while we wait, we will soak up every glimpse we get of that giggly little darling we met last Saturday.”

I let out a small laugh and wiped away my stupid tears. “That’s still me, Daddy.”

“I know, and you’re fucking wonderful.” He smiled and kissed my nose. “You’ll see. Daddy’s always right, and you’re stuck with two of us. Good luck with that.”

I grinned and chuckled and cried and cuddled up against him, the utter mess that I was.

“I heard what you said to Kit earlier.”

Colt’s quiet words roused me from sleep, and I lifted my heavy head off the pillow and blinked drowsily. The room was still pretty dark, and I couldn’t see anyone. Then I realized they were in the tiny hallway, which was out of my view.

I must’ve missed something. I heard Lucas chuckle softly, and I heard them kissing.

“I’m serious,” Colt murmured. “Eight years together, and I find new ways to fall in love with you every day. I love seeing you as a Daddy.”

I was filled with the warm fuzzies, and my head landed on the pillow again.

I’d heard Lucas sigh before, but this one, the one he let out now, was all adoration and affection.

“Ditto, baby.” There was more kissing. “It’s like coming home, isn’t it?”

“Yeah.”

“Okay, you go to work. See if you can get off early. If I’m still with Kit, we’ll ask him about Norfolk.”

“Mmm, make sure you’re with him, then. See you later.”

Norfolk? Oh, yesss! His parents lived there, and it was close to where Langley Air Force Base was! I definitely wanted to visit Colt when he flew an F-16!

The next time I woke up, I was in Lucas’s arms, and he was kissing my shoulder.

I yawned and snuggled closer, hoping to find him hard. I—Jesus, I wasn’t disappointed. I hummed and wrapped my fingers around his cock as much as I could. He was all warm and smooth and perfect.

“As tempting as you are right now, we should get some breakfast in you.” He gripped my chin and planted a firm kiss on my lips. “We will revisit me using your cute little body for my pleasure after we’ve eaten.”

I whined. “But I want you now…”

“Patience, young boy.” He pecked my nose before slipping out of bed, leaving me all lonely and horny. He stepped into a pair of dress pants and reached for an undershirt. “We don’t say no to free breakfast, which they stop serving in twenty minutes.”

I sulked. “I’m not hungry.” Okay, that was a lie. I was just hungrier for my Daddy. A Daddy who looked good enough to eat while he shrugged on a shirt and buttoned it up. It was his fingers. His long piano fingers. They did it.

“I don’t believe you. Come on, up you go.”

Fiiine.

I was not at all happy about the idea of putting on my clothes from last night, so when Lucas offered me a pair of his basketball shorts and a T-shirt, I didn’t think twice. Within a couple of minutes, we left their hotel room and took the elevator down to the ground floor.

I yawned and struggled to keep my eyes open.

“May I take a bath after breakfast?” I wondered. “Your bathtub is so deep.” I loved deep tubs. I used to have one, but my mom thought it was unsafe.

“Of course.” He squeezed my hand. “Anything to keep you here longer.”

I smiled bashfully and hugged his arm. “I don’t have plans.”

“Even better.” He winked at me, then opened the door to the breakfast area.

There were fewer people than I expected. Stragglers, I supposed, at this hour. The hotel had a business feel, and I guessed most businessmen who were in town for work ate early if they ate here at all.
