Her eyebrows squinch together.

“You need me to continue?” When she doesn’t answer, I keep spilling all the thoughts that have been taking up space in my head for months. “I respect the way you don’t let people talk you into things. Even me. You’re hotter than fuck. You wear the cutest outfits.” I squeeze my eyes shut for a second. “But I really like you naked best. Your body drives me insane.”

I usually know where things are going every time I’m with a woman—nowhere. I should’ve let it stay that way. I don’t think I can go back to nowhere. Not when I want to be somewhere with this woman.

“Do you really mean all of that?” she asks.

“Every word.”

She cups my cheek. “I’ll tell him I can’t make it.”

“Good.”

She wiggles her body like she’s trying to get free from my iron grip. “Uh, let me go so I can get my phone.”

“Now?” I slip my hand under her shirt and cup her breast. No bra in my way. Fuck, yes. I rub my thumb around the hard bud of her nipple. “He can wait.”

“You chased me up the stairs…barged in here.” She gasps as I close two fingers over her nipple and squeeze. “And…and…”

“And what?” I tug her shirt up and free one arm. Can’t be bothered getting it all the way off. I dip my head and suck her nipple into my mouth, swirling my tongue around the tip.

“Ah…nothing. I don’t know.” She rakes her fingers through my hair. “I’ll do it later.”

“Yes, you will.” I boost her into my arms again, sliding my palms under her ass, and holding her against my body.

She quickly locks her arms around my neck and glances at the floor. “Don’t let go of me.”

I’ve never been good at holding onto anyone. Never wanted to before.

But I never want to let her go.

CHAPTER THIRTY-SEVEN

Margot

I can’t think. I can barely breathe. Jigsaw wants to be with me. Wants me as his girlfriend. Not his student that he’s throwing a few pity sex lessons.

The man who said he doesn’t do relationships now wants to be in a relationship. With me.

He kisses my neck, my cheeks, and aims for my lips but I pull away.

“So this is a relationship, now?” I ask.

He groans. “I already said yes.”

“No more crappy Post-it Note messages?”

He closes his eyes. “I didn’t know what else to say. I’m not good at…I’m not good at putting feelings and shit into words.”

I cock my head. “Is this just because someone else asked me out? You’re jealous? But a few weeks from now you’ll disappear on me again?”

“No. I’ve wanted to tell you…for a while.” He closes his eyes and looks so miserable, I have a twinge of regret about pressing him. “I just don’t know how.”

Tears blur my eyes. “I don’t either, you know. I’ve never felt like this before. I don’t know if it’s the amazing sex or something more.”

His eyes search my face. Is he hurt? Shocked? “Why can’t it be both?”

“I want it to be.” I press my hands to his cheeks, burning every inch of his face into my memory. My thighs tremble, and I hitch them higher around his hips, locking my ankles together behind his back. “I like you too, you know. I like your sense of humor. I love your loyalty to your brothers and your club. I like that you’re scary on the outside but so sweet to me. I like that you’re protective over me but not suffocating. I love that you don’t try to talk me into things I don’t want to do.” I mash my lips against his. “I love how hard your body is but how gently you handle me.”

“Little lady death, why are you trying to kill me?”

“What?”

“Thank you.” He kisses my cheeks and then my lips. “For understanding me. Accepting me for who I am but still somehow changing me into something better.”

I think that’s what love is? I think I love you.

No. I can’t say that. Not yet.

“I don’t want to change you,” I whisper.

“But you are. For the better. And I want to.”

“Okay.” I yank my shirt off the rest of the way, letting it fall to the floor.

His gaze drops to my breasts.

I lean closer, capturing his lips with mine. It’s more than a kiss. It’s full of excitement about all the new possibilities we’ve opened. After a few long, warm collisions our sweet kiss flips into something more frantic and needy. I’m tugging at his shirt, but it’s trapped against my body and our lips are still fused together. I’m so busy trying to thwart the laws of physics, I don’t realize he’s heading for my bedroom until the door slams shut behind us.

Still clinging to his wide shoulders, my heart swoops as he gently lays me on the bed. I shove my pants down over my hips, while he shrugs off his cut and rips his T-shirt over his head.
