“Call me yours in front of every guy you meet,” I blurt out.

Just like the B word before, I wasn’t planning on saying this either.

Even though it’s been bothering me ever since he said it.

But before I can regret my slip of the tongue, he goes on, “But you are mine, aren’t you?”

“I’m not. I’m not even close to being yours.”

His lips pull up in a small smirk. “If you weren’t, you wouldn’t have run out of there like your ass was on fire just because a girl was hanging onto my arm.”

“I did not run out of there because of —”

“And if you think calling you mine is inappropriate,” he cuts me off like he isn’t interested in listening to my excuse, “you’re certainly not going to like what I was planning to do to make sure they know who you belong to.”

“What exactly were you planning to do then?”

His answer is slow in coming because he’s busy taking my breath away with his heated eyes. “Stick my hand under your tight dress and grab hold of your even tighter ass. Just to make sure they know whose hand goes up there. And when they learned that it’s not theirs like they clearly wanted, I would’ve picked you up like that, thrown you over my shoulder and walked away.”

I was wrong.

My breaths were fine before this. Even though he was staring at me with intense eyes, he was letting me breathe.

Now he’s completely choking me.

Not only with his dirty words but his imagery.

His super masculine, caveman type of imagery.

Like these things actually happen in real life. Like a normal guy, a guy who isn’t him, is capable of doing things like that.

I swallow. “Y-you —”

“But now that I know I’m like your brother, I probably would’ve done something else too.”

Despite myself, I can’t help but ask, “What?”

His fingers squeeze my arm and he grows even closer to me. “Instead of just grabbing your tight-as-fuck ass, I would’ve spanked it.”

I flinch. “What?”

“Only because we’re family, you see,” he rasps. “And family looks out for each other, doesn’t it? So I would’ve made it hurt. Probably shaken loose a few tears and screams. Made your creamy skin all pink as cotton candy. But I want you to remember something, okay?”

“I don’t w-want to —”

“It would’ve hurt me more than it hurt you.”

“You need to move away from me.”

“Unless,” he continues thoughtfully, “you think spanking is better doled out by the man of the house and not by someone who’s just like your brother.” I wince again and hiccup as well as he keeps going, “Because if that’s the case, then I’m not opposed to changing our familial relationship a little bit and being the new daddy in town.”

“Get away from me,” I say quietly.

Dangerously.

“No.”

“Or I am going to scream,” I tell him.

“Yeah, I don’t think it’ll do you any favors, drawing people’s attention.”

“No, it won’t do you any favors.”

“Because when they see who my new sister is, they won’t blame me for putting my hands on her. In fact,” he licks his lips, “they’ll help me hold you down so I can do my brotherly duty and teach you a fucking lesson for strutting your goddamn ass in a bar in the middle of the night.”

I grit and grit my teeth, anger running in my veins like hot lava. “You’re an asshole, you know that? A disgusting asshole and —”

“Yeah, I am,” he says, his own eyes shooting fire now. “What I’m not is your fucking family or your fucking brother.”

Finally I can see that he’s angry.

That he’s been angry all along.

Ever since he arrived at the scene and saved me.

And that just ratchets up my own anger.

“You’re right. You’re not. And I’m an idiot for even thinking that,” I snap. “But I didn’t ask you to come out here and save me. I had it under control and —”

“No, you didn’t.”

“I did. I —”

“Not with the way you were fucking running your mouth,” he bites out, “and if you don’t realize that, then you’re a bigger idiot than you just called yourself.”

“You know what,” I get up in his face, “fuck you, all right. Fuck. You. You can —”

“You better watch your mouth and clean up your language,” he growls. “Because if I have to do that, your lips will be swollen and your throat will be sore for a week.”

I go to snap back at him, but can’t get a word in.

“And before you dig yourself further into this hole, let me tell you that I won’t do it because I’m your new big brother. We’ll call this one a favor to the world for saving it from your firecracker mouth.”

My chest is heaving and I swear I’m growling.

I’m fucking growling with anger.

Not that he cares. “Now, you’re going to get in your car like a good girl. You’re going to drive away and go back home. And then you’re not going to come back here. Not ever. Definitely not at night and definitely not without some adult fucking supervision. Is that understood?”
