Everyone stared at her with quizzical expressions.

Rose giggled. “You’ll see. Who wants to start?”

Kiki volunteered. “I’ll go first. I’m not sure I understand how this works.” She picked up one of the folded slips of paper, unfurled it, and read it. Rose watched while the smile grew on her face. “Ohhh. Now I get it.”

Kiki held the paper up and shouted, “What are you doing with those scissors?”

Everyone nearly fell over laughing as they all glanced at the door. Nothing happened.

Elizabeth was next. She grabbed a piece of paper, grinning when she read it. “We are going to get in so much trouble!” she yelled.

Still no one opened the door.

“Did you tell Adam about this game?” Tatiana asked softly as she grabbed the next paper.

Rose shook her head. “Nope. Not a word. I’m sure all seven of them are huddled at the door, trying really hard to honor our privacy.”

Tatiana leaned back and shouted, “That is never going to fit inside me!”

Again, the door remained closed.

Valerie reached for one of the papers, grinning like a loon. She giggled before she cleared her throat and shouted, “That is going to stain our clothes!”

Rose was rather surprised the Daddies hadn’t busted in yet. She was glad it was taking a while because it was fun, but she was shocked.

“My turn,” Avery said as she snagged a slip of paper. She whispered to the group first, “This is hilarious. Can you even imagine what they’re thinking?”

They all covered their mouths to stifle the giggles.

Avery yelled out, “There is no way I’m going to drink that!”

They all glanced at the door. Nothing.

CC eagerly lurched forward. “I hope mine implies we’re all going to get sick. My Daddy can’t stand it when Littles get sick, and he knows my voice well,” she murmured softly. She looked at the message and shouted, “Be careful, you’re going to fall!”

CC leaned toward the door. She was obviously certain hers would have broken Hunter down. Apparently the Daddies hadn’t reached the breaking point yet.

It was Rose’s turn. She picked a paper, read it, and set it down before aiming her voice toward the door. “What if we catch the stuffies on fire?”

Poop. She was actually disappointed now. Either the Daddies weren’t listening as intently as she expected, or they were on to the naughty shenanigans.

“I’ve got this,” Kiki said as she snatched another piece of paper. “Should we take our clothes off first?” she yelled louder than any of them.

Finally, the door opened.

Rose had no idea who opened it. It looked like a collective effort. All seven men managed to lean into the room at the same time, some higher, some lower. They had stern looks on their faces as they looked around the room.

The Littles fell over against each other, a pile of tears and laughter. It was short-lived, though, because a few seconds later, it started raining on them.

Rose gasped as she lifted her head, afraid they had somehow set off the sprinkler system. Oops. What if one of the night managers in the mall had heard them shouting about fire and set off the sprinklers? That would be very bad because her inventory was in this room. It would all get ruined.

When she tipped her head back, she realized they weren’t getting wet enough for the sprinklers to be going off. It was water guns. Each of the Daddies was holding a colorful plastic water gun, and they were shooting directly at the pile of Littles on the floor. Just enough water to startle them all. Not enough to soak anyone or get any of the inventory wet.

“Uncle!” someone yelled before they all joined in. “Uncle! Uncle! Uncle!”

Finally, the pelting from the water guns stopped.

Adam chuckled. “Who won the game?”

Rose rolled her eyes. Her Daddy must have somehow found out about her game because he’d come prepared to retaliate. Meanie.

Chapter Nine

Avery

“I think it’s cupcake time,” Rose proclaimed as she gathered up the rest of the slips of paper and put them in the trash.

Avery wiped the water off her face as she followed the others out of the supply room and into the break room. It wasn’t very large, but it was big enough for the seven women to fit in around the small table if they didn’t let the Daddies in.

Avery chuckled as Rose pushed Adam away from the door. “Go do Daddy things,” she whined. “You can’t fit in here with us.”

Adam chuckled. He was far too large for her to move. He stood in the way like a brick wall. “What if we want cupcakes, too?”

Rose glared at him. “You can have some after us if there are any left over.”

Adam lifted his brows. “I saw that giant bag of cupcakes, Rosebud. I’m pretty sure Tarson sent over a half a dozen of every variety. That’s a lot of cupcakes for seven Little girls. You may have one each.”
