Good for him for seeing it in himself and stepping back, but at the same time, I wish I couldn’t see the hurt in his eyes.

That hurt suddenly turns to fire before he leans in and whispers in my ear. “Besides, when we get home, I want to be completely sober for all the things I want to do to you.”

My eyes flutter shut. “You’re mean, Denver Smith.”

“Don’t you know it.” He pulls away and winks.

The server either didn’t hear Denver reject the tequila or ignored him, so Denver slides it over to me.

“Oh, so you can’t drink, but I can get drunk?”

“Mmhmm. Well, not drunk drunk, but tipsy Mason is fun. From memory.” His eyes shine in that mischievous way of his.

I think if I drink, all that’s going to do is turn me on more. I get horny when I’m drinking, and considering I’ve been wanting to jump Denver’s body all day, I don’t know if I’m going to be able to hold out.

“What’s going on with you two?” Blake asks.

We both freeze and turn to him.

“What?” I act innocent, but maybe I can’t pull it off like Denver can.

“You guys are a lot friendlier than the last time I was in the same space as you.”

Denver casually does the bro up-nod thing he does. “We’re making up for lost time after our fight.”

Blake leans in. “And what was that fight about again?”

I bite my lip. “Not staying in contact after the band split.” It was so much more than that, but I really don’t want to get into it.

A man, a security guard by the look of it, approaches the table and leans over to say something to Blake.

Blake’s gaze darts toward the other side of the VIP lounge, and he gives a half-smile before standing. “I’ll be right back. There’s a director over there I’ve been dying to meet with.” We both go to turn, but Blake stops us. “Nuh-uh. Don’t look and fuck this up for me. It’s Benjamin Randt.”

I let out a whistle, but in the noise of the club it gets drowned out. “Damn, he’s a serious movie guy.”

“I know. I’ve been trying to land one of his movies, but he keeps rebuffing my agent because I only do brainless action flicks.”

“Go say hi!” Denver says.

“I am. I am.”

As soon as Blake leaves us, I turn my head to look. “Who’s that he’s with?”

Denver looks and narrows his eyes. “He’s that actor, isn’t he? The gay one. Uh …”

“Well, that narrows it down,” I snark.

“Jordan someone.”

Ah, that’s it. “Brooks.”

“Yeah, him!”

Blake is invited to sit with them, and Denver and I watch for a while, but there’s no way to tell if it’s going well or not. Then again, if it was going badly, I guess Blake would be back already.

I inch closer to Denver and lean in to say in his ear, “I’ve been wanting to touch you all day. Just so you know.”

“Is this payback for telling you what I want to do to you when we get home or what?”

“I don’t think I can wait until we get home,” I murmur.

Denver shifts, and I bet all the money I have that if I were to reach for his lap, I’d find an uncomfortably hard cock behind the zipper of his pants. He looks around the small VIP area, but no one’s paying attention to us. We’re not the biggest celebrities in here. No one can take photos up here either—it’s against the rules.

“I’m going to go to the bathroom,” he says. “In a few minutes, get up and follow me.”

I watch as he walks away, and then I wait the torturous couple of minutes before I get up too.

Chapter Twenty-One

Denver

As soon as Mason’s through the door to the small VIP bathroom, I cage him in against the door and flick the lock.

“Fuck, I’ve wanted to do this all day.” I don’t give Mason a chance to respond before I slam my mouth on his.

He moans, loud and long, and if it weren’t for the deafening music out there, I’d worry someone would hear.

I break away from his lips and kiss down his neck.

“Do you think this is really a good idea?” he breathes.

“We’ll be fast. There are no cameras. No phones. If people find it weird we locked ourselves in the bathroom, we’ll just sniff a lot and say we were doing cocaine. No one would bat an eye.”

True.

“Handjobs?” Mason asks. “You’re suspiciously good at getting me off fast with those.”

I pull back and lock on his dark eyes that are filled with heat. “I was thinking something else.” I reach for his jeans and pop the button and then undo the zipper.

Mason leans against the door, his mouth dropped open, his eyes hooded.

He’s so sexy when he’s turned on.

Then? I drop to my knees.
