“Oh, this is good.”

“Banana wine. My own recipe,” Esteban boasted before digging into the food, which turned out to be as delicious as promised.

From what little Miguel had told Nero, they’d traveled far away from the site of their accident and Cano was dead. That left Ramiro on their tail, but it had been Cano who was Father’s bloodhound, so Nero had high hopes for a peaceful night of unwinding the knots that had made Miguel so painfully tense.

They even got another bottle of the banana wine to enjoy in their room after a discussion full of local gossip. They’d agreed to have a little talk with his neighbor first thing in the morning, but that would be child’s play to warm them up for another tough day on the run.

For now though, they were finally alone in the guest room which only had space for two narrow beds covered with flower-print blankets, and had walls crowded with pictures of saints, who watched their every move from walls. Would the Virgin of Chiquinquirá blush if she saw Nero spread Miguel’s firm thighs and lean in to lick his long dick?

Nero sat on one of the beds and felt it creak. He considered pushing them together to initiate the conversation hanging above their heads like a storm cloud, but as open as he usually was about his sexuality, he didn't want to wake Esteban by making the antique wooden frames squeak deep in the night.

Miguel put the wine on the nightstand next to the glasses they got to go with it, but then paced the empty space by the door, making the atmosphere more tense than it needed to be. They had escaped death once more, Cano was dead, and the room came with an en-suite shower. What more could they ask for?

Just when Nero was about to make conversation as if he hadn’t been snubbed for the past hour, Miguel stopped moving, looked at Nero with fists clenched at the sides of his body, and spoke.

“I know I fucked up. But if you wanted me to use a condom, you should have stopped me!”

Nero stared at him, for a moment, unsure if he heard that right. “That’s what you’ve been so deep in your head about all this time?” he asked and picked up the wine. He opened the bottle and poured them a full glass each, already chuckling.

He hadn’t been filled with cum in such a long time he’d forgotten how much he used to enjoy it as that stupid kid who didn’t have the sense to take precautions.

Miguel glared at him as if there was something to be angry about and grabbed the glass of wine. “I thought you could die, and I lost my cool, but I didn’t mean to be so rough. I never—I’m sorry.”

A strange warmth spread deep in Nero’s chest, so he drank some of the sweet homemade wine, trying not to read too much into Miguel so openly declaring that the threat of Nero’s death made him act out of character.

He rose and approached him with a wicked smile. “Figured. You wouldn’t want to lose the first guy you’ve decided to fuck before it actually happened.”

Miguel downed half his glass in one go, watching Nero with eyes like slits. “Well, you are first, so it’s not like I can give you STDs. Anyway, what’s more important is that I still don’t know why Cano is after you.”

Nero rolled his eyes, unwilling to share those details. “You’re just changing the subject.”

“Or are you?”

Nero ran his spiky teeth over his top lip in silence.

Miguel shook his head. “So you just won’t tell me?”

“Maybe some other time.”

“Fine.”

Miguel had saved Nero’s life, and was his companion on this crazy adventure, yet Nero still couldn’t bring himself to trust him fully. But he didn’t need to bare his heart, soul, and brain matter to a man to build a connection.

Only then it hit Nero what Miguel was attempting to tell him before this distraction.

He stepped so close he could smell the alcohol on Miguel’s breath. “Wait a minute… you mean first ever? Am I the first guy or—”.

Miguel stayed where he was, but wouldn’t look into Nero’s eyes. His stubbly Adam’s apple bobbed so deliciously when he swallowed Nero couldn’t wait to bite right into it.

“I don’t… fuck around. I never did,” he choked out

Nero licked his lips, feeling faint in the best way possible. For a first timer… Miguel had been an amazing fuck. Scratch that. He was an amazing fuck. It was only his post-coital manner that left a lot to be desired.

But… if he’d never fucked anyone, did that mean that no one else had been persistent or attractive enough to tempt him off the misguided path of chastity?

As Miguel downed his glass and then refilled it, Nero sipped some himself to fuel the fantasies burning in his brain.
