“Saga,” Isha calls, snapping me out of my trance.

“Um… hold on, Isha,” I say. “Babe, I was supposed to be back in Cali by now. Isha has a ticket to come out and see me. She bought it before I left New York.”

He nods. “We’ll be back in a few days. She’s welcome to stay at the house with us. If she arrives before we do, our housekeeper will make her feel at home.”

It hits me, I really got married last night. The way he talks about his home as mine with such ease is a dose of reality. I’ll be living with him when we arrive in California, not in my parents’ home.

“You don’t have to cancel. I’ll call you later with details,” I say to Isha.

“Oh my God. Do you think I can meet Bishop and the band?”

“I’m pretty sure that’ll be inevitable,” I chuckle.

“Hell yeah. You’re my best friend in the world. Scratch that. You’re my favorite person in the universe,” she hoots.

“Love you too. Talk to you later.”

“Oh right, you probably want to screw his brains out again. Call me as soon as you come up for air. I want to know what all has really been going on,” she sings before hanging up.

Bishop takes a seat on the couch, tugging me into his lap. I snuggle into him, placing my head on his shoulder. His heavy hand on my side brings me so much comfort. A sigh falls from my lips.

“I’m starving and thirsty as fuck,” he grumbles into my hair.

“Want me to order in?”

“No, I want to go out for our first morning as husband and wife. You’ve been held up in hotel rooms and on the bus enough,” he says.

“And here I thought you were ashamed to take me out,” I tease.

“A load of bull,” he snorts. “You’re the one who tried to deny us. I’d tell the world about us if I didn’t think I’d totally piss you off.”

“Things change. You might want the world to know you’re married so I don’t have to beat the snot out of anyone for trying to put their lips on you.”

He throws his head back and huffs. “You saw that shit?”

“Yup.”

“I wasn’t sure how much you saw, but I wasn’t interested at all. It’s only you—”

“I saw it all. You mushed the shit out of her,” I laugh.

“If you heard the shit she said before trying to kiss me, you wouldn’t blame me,” he says in disgust.

“How about this? We tell our families and then we can tell the press,” I offer.

“That’s fine with me,” he says. In one swift motion, he’s up with me in his arms, heading into the bedroom. “A shower and food. Then I think I want to spend the day spoiling my wife.”

“Not complaining at all.”

CHAPTER 28

The Press

Bishop

“We’ll take the bag and shoes with us. The rest you can ship to this address,” I say as they ring up our purchases.

Saga still looks uncomfortable with all the money I’ve spent on her. I pull her close by the waist as she chews on her lip. She looks up at me with those big brown eyes.

“Stop worrying. Think of it as my wedding gift to you,” I lean to say in her ear and kiss her neck.

“It’s so much. I thought you meant we were going to get things I can afford. I wouldn’t have purchased any of that on my own. Those are Christmas gifts from my parents. Things I wouldn’t dare buy myself,” she whispers back.

“Your husband is a wealthy man, Saga. He can afford to give you anything you want. Which means you can afford anything you want,” I chuckle back.

She rubs her forehead. “This is going to take some time to get used to.”

“We have a lot to get used to and a lifetime to do it in. One step at a time, gorgeous.”

My phone vibrates in my pocket. I pull it out and frown at the text from Jag. He’s been blowing me up since last night. I was too drunk and focused on my wife to answer then. Today, I’ve just been ignoring him.

Jag: Where are you?

Me: Shopping with Saga.

Jag: Where? We need to talk.

Me: We’ll talk when I get back.

I reply and shove the phone back in my pocket before I can see if he responds. I’m not really interested in anything he has to say at the moment. I sign for the purchases and grab the bag with the things Saga wants to take with her.

“I’m starving again,” I say as my stomach starts to grumble.

“Why do I feel like I’m going to spend most of my time feeding a hungry husband?” she laughs.

Wrapping an arm around her, I pull her body in front of mine and lean into her ear. “I have a staff to cook for me. You’ll be feeding me, but not food,” I say for only her to hear and flick my tongue against her lobe.
