She licks my palm, causing me to smile and wink at her. Her eyes roll back in her head as her tight pussy squeezes around me. Her thighs tremble against me and her juices gush around my length.

“That’s my girl, come all over my shit. Let that little pussy coat me in that sweetness,” I croon.

I release her mouth and take it in a searing kiss. I want my tongue plunging into her mouth as she comes for me. I thrust up a little harder and faster, wanting to come with her.

She begins to come right as I shoot my load into her tight heat. My eyes roll back into my head. The weight of the chain around my neck grounds me, washing over me with my climax, calming my soul.

In this moment, I know I’m ready for something new. In my personal life. In my career. It’s time to make some changes happen because I want to spend all the time I can with this woman in my arms.

“I didn’t think I could love you more than I did, but I do,” I breathe.

“I was thinking the same exact thing,” she pants.

CHAPTER 40

Changing

Saga

My stomach has been queasy all day. I trust Bishop, but I have no idea what’s going to happen tonight. It’s been a month since the disaster.

Bishop’s solution to our problem is complete. A listening party. This was his big idea.

My family will be arriving at the home I share with my husband tonight to listen to his completed album. I don’t know how this is supposed to fix anything, but Bishop has been so sure of himself all week.

I trust my husband.

If I can keep reminding myself of that, maybe I’ll be able to get my stomach to release these knots. The anticipation is exhausting. I just want to curl up in bed and sleep until the moment of doom.

“Are you all right?” Bishop asks as he enters the room.

I’m still in his T-shirt I wore to sleep in, perched on the edge of the bed. I try to answer, but my stomach rolls. I shoot up off the bed and rush into the bathroom.

“Saga,” Bishop calls as he follows me.

I can hear his heavy footfalls behind me as I sink to my knees before the toilet. I want this night to be over before it kills me. I can’t believe I’m so nervous.

“Babe, tell me what you need,” he says once I’m done heaving into the toilet.

He kisses the back of my head and rubs my back. I don’t know what to tell him. I’ve been anxious about tonight all week, but this is the first time it’s made me sick to my stomach.

“I think I just need to get my mind off tonight. Maybe I just need to rest or something,” I say.

“Why don’t you go to the spa and relax for the day? By the time you come home, I’ll have everything prepared for this evening. You’ll only have to get dressed,” he says, combing my bangs off my sweaty forehead.

“I don’t know,” I moan and rub my belly. “Maybe after a nap.”

“If that’s what you need,” he replies. “Come here.”

He scoops me up and takes me to the sink to brush my teeth and wash my face for me. I’ve never been so cherished and loved by a man in my life. This last month of being married to Bishop has been amazing.

He’s forever surprising me with his attention to detail and how he always seems to know just what I need. Sometimes, he knows what I need before I do, just like in this moment.

He steps between my legs as I’m perched on the edge of the bathroom countertop and pulls me into a tight hug. It’s the soothing balm that makes my body jelly and my anxiety pop like a bubble. My stomach is still a little queasy, but the comfort of his embrace makes it background noise in an otherwise perfect moment.

“I love you,” he whispers into my ear. “Everything happens for a reason. You are my reason. When this night is over, everyone will understand and we’ll mend everything that was broken.”

“I love you too,” I say.

“Come on. Let me get you into bed. I’ll make an appointment at the spa for this afternoon,” he says and proceeds to carry me off to tuck me in.

The perfect husband. That’s who Bishop is. Have we had hiccups in between? Yes, but that’s a part of getting to know each other. I’ll take the good and the bad because it’s making us stronger.

He promised to make this all right. Tonight will be fine. We’ll be fine.

Bishop

I watch my wife sleep with a shit-eating grin on my face. She doesn’t know she’s pregnant. I’m pretty damn sure of it. She thinks it’s stress.
