“I thought we were keeping it to the club.”

“I think we should consider our D/s relationship to have time constraints rather than place. I don’t want to not be able to take care of you if we’re stuck in a hotel room in London when we’re on the actual op. Also, I don’t want to have to go run here any time we need to throw down.”

He was so arrogant. “I didn’t say we were going to throw down at all.”

“But you didn’t take sex off the table,” he pointed out. “As long as it’s on the table, I’ll try to seduce you. I’ll try to get you in my bed every single night.”

“I think you promised Brad that wouldn’t happen.”

“I’ll find a bed that doesn’t include Brad. I promise you. If you agree to sleep with me, I’ll find us a place to do it. And once we get to The Garden, we’ll have the privacy we need.”

She really should have taken sex off the table because now that she was sitting here with her knees wide and the low thrum of music playing across her skin, with his deep voice promising her all kinds of pleasure, it didn’t sound like a bad idea.

Because it isn’t. It’s exactly what you need. Get close. See if what you had that first time was real, and maybe he’s telling you the truth. Maybe he really was planning on coming for you.

“Stop thinking. I can see how tense you’re getting, and I’m pretty sure it’s because you’re overthinking this. Eyes down.”

She did as he commanded, dropping her head forward into the submissive pose she’d learned. She watched as his boots came into view.

“What are you supposed to do in this place?” he asked.

“Whatever you tell me to do until such time I find something I don’t want to do.”

“Well, that takes the fantasy out of it, but it’s true enough.” The words came out in a slightly grumpy tone.

She wished that made him any less attractive. “Do you want the fantasy, Sir?”

“Do I want the fantasy that you could ever truly be here with me? Yes. Do I want the fantasy that you would choose me even if I wasn’t the only Dom available to you? Yeah, I would like that, but I’ll take what I can get when it comes to you. Yes. I want the fantasy that I’m in charge, and I think you want the fantasy that there’s nothing you can do, that this is inevitable and I’m not Drake Radcliffe, the man who fucked you over. I’m someone else, someone who will give you what you need and not try to take more than you would like to give.”

But he was right about that. It was a fantasy. He would try to take more from her, try to seduce her and trap her again.

It was a game, and if she played this right, she could win.

“Yes. I want that fantasy now that we’ve put the truth out there.” It wasn’t a lie. She did want what this man could give her physically.

His hand curled around the back of her neck, sending a thrill through her. It meant they were about to truly start. It tightened, and he gently forced her head up so she could see the look in his eyes.

He wanted her. He was going to have her.

She was going to have to take what he gave her. All the pain. All the pleasure. Everything.

She let go of the warring dialogue in her head. For the next couple of hours nothing mattered but what happened in this dungeon. She was going to allow herself to float on sensation, to exist in the moment.

“Are you ready to serve your Master tonight?” Drake asked.

She felt the moment her brain gave over to her body’s needs. “Yes. I am, Sir.”

The hand went soft and he moved, stroking it over her hair. “Then I’d like you on the cross.”

She took the hand he held out and allowed him to help her up. She would practice more, wanting to be as graceful as the other subs around her.

Time seemed to slow as she moved to the cross. She felt languid as he carefully bound her wrists. Taylor allowed herself to feel the way his hands moved over her skin. The calluses she remembered were still there, scraping over her in the most delicious way. She would have expected those hands of his to be soft. He was from a spectacularly wealthy family, had all the best of everything the world could offer. But his hands were working hands, and they did something for her.

She’d only been flogged a few times, and mostly by Dommes. The women who’d helped her learn what she did and didn’t like hadn’t brought the same feeling of sex that she felt this time. She’d found comfort from them, enjoyed how her body had hummed at the experience but her pussy hadn’t been involved.
