So yeah, no one knew, and we hadn’t really talked about how we would act tonight, so I guessed we were just playing it by ear.

“I really don’t know why you guys aren’t more fun. I mean, I’m fun. One would think my friends would be fun too. Maybe I should find new ones,” I joked.

“Hey! I’m fun!” Ash replied. “I like Saturgay. Kind of wished I were having Saturgay all my life. I enjoy it a lot more than Straighturday? Saturstraight? See? Gay is even a funner word than straight!”

We all laughed, the moment whisking around me and landing in my chest. These people were amazing. The best friends I’d ever had. The only real friends I’d had at all.

I must have been taken over by some super-sappy emotion I couldn’t put my finger on. That emotion made me reach out, grab Rush’s hand, and thread our fingers together. “Well, this Saturgay will be different. I feel bad for all the boys tonight because they’re going to see that Lincoln Gray is taken. What will they ever do without a shot at having my ass?”

Rush’s hand tightened around mine. I waited, walked, pretended I wasn’t holding my breath to see how they’d react. What I expected, I had no clue. That they would laugh at me? It wouldn’t be the first time someone did. That they would wonder what Rush was doing and tell him he was better than me? It was likely true.

Cam was the first to break the ice. “About fucking time, Short Stuff!”

“Wait. I thought you guys were already married?” Sawyer added.

“Well, I already knew,” Beau spoke next.

“And you didn’t tell me? I don’t even know who you are anymore, Campbell,” Ash teased. “Linc and Rush, I mean, that shit was obvious from the start, so I technically knew without knowing, but you still should have told me! I don’t know how I can live with this!”

My smile started in my chest, found its way to my lips. It was the perfect reaction to the non-big-deal I was making a big deal out of. Rush was so good to me, so patient, that I’d wanted to give him this moment, but then I realized how much I needed it as well. I hadn’t been lying when I told him I wanted this. I didn’t want us to go crazy or whiskey throttle or whatever the fuck it was called.

When we got in line, I shivered, and Rush wrapped his arm around me. “Are you cold?” he whispered close to my ear.

“Yes.”

“I wish I had two arms to wrap about you. But that’s what happens when you wear a cropped T-shirt on a chilly March night.”

“Are you complaining?” I leaned back and cocked a brow at him. He ran his hand up and down my abs, around my back and under my shirt.

“No, Red. Not complaining at all. You know I love your body.” Yeah, I did know it, and it made me soar.

“I love yours too.”

Rush moved in, his mouth close to my ear again. “That was a surprise…a good one. I’m so glad I get to tell everyone this pretty boy is mine.”

Yep, I trembled and my dick perked up a bit. Fuck, I loved being Rush’s pretty boy. “I like being yours,” I answered back, even though the words wanted to stick in my throat. It was so easy to be confident and honest without real emotion behind it.

A few minutes later we were inside Fever. The music was blasting, the boys were beautiful, and I was there with my best friends and boyfriend. A perfect night.

Weaving our way through the crowd, we went straight for one of the bars. It was already packed, but the Fever boys knew what they were doing and got through the customers quickly before getting to us. Rush wasn’t drinking. He didn’t drink much during supercross season, apparently even when he wasn’t racing. He put his hand at the small of my back, his calloused fingers singing on my skin in the best possible way. “What do you want?” he asked.

“Vodka and Sprite. I’ll get the next one myself.” I winked at him.

“Yes, sir.”

“I like that. Say it to me again while you’re spanking me.”

Rush’s brows pulled together. “Wouldn’t you be the one saying sir if I was spanking you?”

“Come on, baby. You know I don’t play by the rules.”

The bartender approached, and Rush found out what everyone wanted before ordering a round of drinks for all of us. Apparently, one’s boyfriend announcing they were together made Rush give-y.

We danced and laughed and talked among our Saturgay crew before I looked up to see Jace, Dax, and Dax’s assistant, Carter, approach us. He must have been in town from LA.

“Hey, man. How’s the arm?” Dax asked Rush when they reached our little corner of Fever.
