“I like rewards, Daddy.” And presents. And orgasms. And attention. “I’ll be very good for you.”

Yep, smart Daddies were much better than dumb ones.

Chapter 12

Enzo

“You’re here.” I woke up to wide eyes and a confused expression peering down at me. “Hi.”

It was a bit too close to how he’d talked to my dick when we’d been playing the night before, so it took my brain a second to switch gears. “Yes. I’m here. Do you remember why I’m here?”

He wasn’t screaming at me, so I was hoping that meant he was pleased to see me.

“Yes.” His answer didn’t clarify anything. “Be right back.”

Nearly springing off the bed, Terrence ran to the bathroom and it soon became apparent what had woken him up.

His bladder.

As I stretched in the bed and closed my eyes again, I faintly heard him moving around and eventually realized he was washing his hands. I must’ve dozed off because one second there was water going in the background and the next he was straddling me and looking down at me with a confused expression on his face.

“Good morning.” There seemed to be some kind of miscommunication, so I decided to tackle it head-on since guessing would never fix the situation. “Why wouldn’t I be here? You picked out my pajamas and even my underwear. My clothes are in your dryer.”

He blinked.

Well, that was something.

“You said I could wash my clothes and you’re going to make me muffins. The good ones. You promised.” I shrugged. “You did.”

“You’re trying to be silly.” His head shifted in the other direction. “That’s probably a good thing too.”

So was me still being here the other good thing?

Wait.

“Did you think I’d leave in the middle of the night?”

Fuck. I could see the answer on his face. That was the reason he’d been so confused.

“You shouldn’t have picked out underwear for me if I was supposed to know to leave once you fell asleep. That’s sending major mixed signals right there, cutie.” Crossing my arms over my chest, I glared at him since he seemed to like that expression. “I’m going to demand that you make me cookies later when you’re looking for ways to procrastinate.”

Whatever the fuck his job was.

I still had questions about that but I shoved them to the back of my mind…again. We had more interesting issues than whatever he seemed to do for the idiots in Washington.

“Yes.” Nodding slowly, his smile started to peek out. “I owe you cookies for being confusing.”

He didn’t seem to mind that and settled himself in his favorite spot, draped down on top of me. “Good morning.”

Well, we seemed to be moving in a better direction, so I gave him a quick peck. Toothpaste. I’d dozed longer than I’d thought. “Good morning.”

I wasn’t sure how to switch from distracting him to actually getting information, but luckily he didn’t make it hard. He propped his chin on his hands and gave me a slightly less curious look before he settled in to his story. “I like playing dress up and I like taking care of you and that got kind of mixed up?”

When I nodded, he relaxed and his rambling explanation started. “You look cute in my pajamas…and my underwear. I remember that part. Oh, and I remember you helping me get all clean after we had orgasms in my playroom. Then you were sneaky and tucked me into bed. You shouldn’t have told me that you’d be right back and we’d play another game. I fell asleep.”

Shrugging, I wasn’t going to lie about feeling bad. “You were exhausted and I needed to get my clothes started. Do you know you don’t seem to sleep enough? You tried to get up at two o’clock to work on some kind of project. I wrote down the notes you told me to in your phone, but I put you back to bed. You’re a pain in the ass in the middle of the night.”

He didn’t argue with me about that but his head cocked again. “Am I supposed to remember that? I wake up a lot at my desk and most of the time I don’t remember going there.”

He perked up like a dog that had just heard the mailman, his eyes going wide. “What kind of notes?”

“Um, numbers and some words that don’t make sense.” It’d been late or early and I wasn’t sure they were even in English. “I’m starting to realize how smart you are and that’s fine. I don’t mind dealing with smart. But you’re going to have to get sleep. One way or another. Got it?”

His sigh said we were going to have drama about that, but he didn’t lie. “I like talking with you, Daddy. I remember we need to talk about limits too.”

He might be smart but he was going to have to work on his manipulation tactics.
