I palm his face. “I love you,” I say as his lips move to my neck.

“I love you so much,” he replies huskily.

He tugs his shirt open, buttons pop and fly free. My breasts heave as I lose my breath with want. I will never have enough of this man. He leaves me wanting more even as he touches me.

Reaching for his wrist, I stare up at him as I release his cuff link. I’ve admired how sexy he has looked all night. Yet, my shirtless Bishop is my favorite. Not just because I get to ogle his amazing body, but because it’s when I get to see him most relaxed.

Once I have the cuff links in my palm, he lifts me onto his waist and carries me over to the bed. He lays me down gently and takes his links from my hand, placing them in his pocket. I sit up on my elbows as I watch him release his pants and push them down his thick thighs.

“You are a stunning man,” I breathe.

“You are a remarkable woman. I see how close you are to your family. I know you were willing to give that up to stay with me. Your strength is something I hope to match in our marriage,” he says.

My cheeks heat. He’s right. I love my family dearly and I would have been devastated if they couldn’t come to terms with my marriage. Yet, this pull I have when it comes to my husband. It feels right. I would have done whatever kept me in his arms.

“I truly believe we were meant to be,” I say.

“I know we were,” he says, grabbing my ankles and pulling me to the edge of the bed.

He sucks my toes into his mouth as his eyes stay locked on mine. I never in my life thought this would turn me on. He smiles around my big toe before releasing it.

Dropping to his knees, he begins to feast on my core. I’m clenching the sheets and calling out almost instantly. Bishop chuckles in pleasure. He relishes this torture he places on my body.

Halfway to my first orgasm, he pauses, moving his face to my belly. He starts a circle of reverent kisses across my skin. It settles in that I might be pregnant. We’ll need to make sure first thing tomorrow.

“It feels like I’ve waited forever for you and your mother. You both make me a better man. I will cherish and protect you both with every breath I have,” he says against my tummy.

I push a hand through his hair, causing him to lift his eyes to mine. His blues glisten with unshed tears. I think I just fell in love with him all over again.

“We’re the lucky ones. You’ve been there to protect me and fix things for me from the time we first met. Thank you for that,” I say.

“Thank you for letting me.”

He leans in to kiss me, my flavor on his lips. I moan at the taste, needing him more than ever. Slipping a hand beneath my ass, he moves me up the bed.

Breaking the kiss, he sinks into me slowly. He stretches me in that way that makes me feel complete. The slow work of his hips stirs something deep in my soul.

I cling to him as a firestorm builds inside me so perfectly. His groans become music to my ears. I turn my head and lick the sweat from his bicep.

“Babe,” he grunts.

“I need more,” I whimper.

He kisses me deeply, only increasing his pace after he’s had his fill of my mouth. We’re going to peak together. I know it. I can feel it.

It’s the moment of all moments. The one where I can feel my soul connect to his. I look into his eyes and the world falls away. I am his and he is mine.

Our hearts sing the final notes to our song.

CHAPTER 43

Resolutions

Saga

I flip through the mail, stopping at the large envelope with my name on it. I place a hand on my still flat tummy. The morning sickness has gotten real.

I think to wait for Bishop to return from his meeting with the label, but curiosity wins out. I tear the envelope open and pull out the folder inside. I skim through the contents and freeze.

It’s a severance package and an apology from the partners at Carmichael, Pike, and Jeffreys Advertising and Marketing. Only the letterhead reads Carmichael and Pike Advertising and Marketing, no longer Jeffreys.

I laugh out loud when I see an offer for my old job back. “I’m good,” I say to myself.

Shaking my head, I flip through the rest of the documents. There’s a spread on a fundraiser that was given. I’m still sitting, flipping through everything, when I feel Bishop’s presence at my back. He kisses the side of my neck.
