When he returns, a girl with a cart follows him in. She moves the plates to the table and places two chocolate shakes beside them. I can’t help the smile that comes to my lips as I remember meeting Bishop in the diner for the first time.

I look to him and he shoots me a knowing smile. Warmth spreads through my belly. This connection between us is only growing. I feel like he can read my thoughts.

When the girl lifts the lids, the aromas that take over the room are mouthwatering. I know right away the massive burger is for him. My stomach growls when I take in the quesadilla and fries on the other plate.

“You remembered.”

He taps his forehead. “I record everything you say.”

With a smile, I turn my attention back to the room service girl setting the table. I see her trying not to stare at Bishop as he stands there shirtless. I cover my mouth as I laugh behind my hand.

I can’t blame her. I’m almost positive she knows who he is. I half expect her to ask for an autograph or picture. Bishop pulls out a tip and hands it over. She beams and turns bright red.

“Th… thank y… you, Mr. Love,” she stammers out, confirming my suspicion.

She rushes from the room, looking back over her shoulder with a goofy smile on her face. Bishop doesn’t even seem to notice. He turns for me, plucking me from the couch to carry me to the table on the other side of the room.

“You know you can stop carrying me around everywhere,” I say.

“Where’s the fun in that?” he says, kissing my temple. He sets me down and snatches one of my fries. I pop his thigh before he can dance out of the way.

“Hey,” I pout. “You have your own.”

“Tastes better off your plate,” he says, licking his lips. He moves to sit across from me, lifting a fry from his own plate. He places it in front of my lips. I take it into my mouth. “See how much better that tastes knowing it was mine?”

I chew on the fry and shake my head at him as I smile. I start on my own fries and realize he might just be right. His fry was much better.

We eat in silence for a little bit as he devours the burger in front of him. I love watching him eat. It makes him seem… normal. Not at all like the rock star sex god he portrays to the rest of the world.

“Do you think you’ll have the album done by the time we reach LA?” I ask, trying to find something to fill the silence with.

“Yeah, I’ll have it done,” he says with a twinkle in his eyes. “I have a few more tunes I want to perfect and I’ll be ready to record the whole thing when we get back.”

“That’s great, right?”

“For the label, of course. It’s been bittersweet for me,” he replies.

“Bittersweet?”

“This one has been personal for me. I’ve been sharing it with the world, but I would rather have just shared it with the person I wrote it for first,” he says as his eyes lock on mine.

I feel my cheeks heat. “I’ve been enjoying getting to hear you play them in concert with the band. It’s… the songs come to life for me. You and the guys are so amazing. I love experiencing them live.”

“You do know that this will always be our lives. You’ve been upset about the pictures. That’s going to be our life, babe. They will always be a part of us. Always peeking into our world,” he says.

The worry I see in his eyes is something new. Again, making him human, real on some new level. I take a moment to think over his words.

He’s bringing up a valid point. He’s Bishop Love. People want to be him, they want a part of him, and they want to be with him.

“You say all that as if we’re going to be together for a long time,” I say and bite my lip.

He pauses with a fry halfway to his mouth. He drops the fry and places his elbows on the table, leaning in. The worry I saw just moments ago vanishes.

“I don’t know what you thought being mine meant, but let me clear that up for you. You’re mine until the end of time, Saga. I was yours the moment you walked into that diner.

“You’ve owned a piece of me since I looked into those eyes, gorgeous. When I commit, I commit. I want it all. Your good, your bad, and your ugly,” he says, with that heat in his gaze.

I’m smiling so hard my cheeks hurt. I lean in and snatch one of his fries to pop into my mouth. He chuckles and winks.
