My heart swells as Saga’s laughter rings out. My guys look relaxed and happy too—baseball caps, shades and all. I guess we all need this.

I glance at my cousin. If only I could help him kick back and relax. Saga crashes into me and laughs like a maniac. I smile wide and shake my head.

“Head in the game, babe. We’re not here to play around.”

“You asked for it,” I warn, only to have Isha run into my other side.

She’s laughing just as hard. That is until Fendi and Bop crash into her, their deep chuckles replacing her laugh. She scowls at them both.

“Oh, you’re gonna pay,” she growls.

Just then, Thrush rear-ends her. I shake my head and take off for my wife, she’s not getting away so easily. We go through and do the bumper cars at least two more times.

After, we mill around and play a few games, winning stuffed animals for Saga and Isha. Dwayne won the biggest stuffed animal and took the smaller ones the other guys won for Isha so she could hold his.

I’m not sure what he did with the others, but I think he may have tossed them in the trash. Things are going to get interesting around here for sure.

Saga

“I can’t believe you didn’t tell me how much you hate amusement parks,” I say as we enter our bedroom.

My feet are killing me, but I had so much fun. This was the best day ever. I flop face down on the bed and groan.

“You wanted to go. I wasn’t going to whine about it because I can’t stand the places. My feet are killing me, but it was fun,” he says.

“I was thinking the same thing,” I say into the mattress.

Bishop chuckles. He’s moving around, but I can’t find the energy to lift my head and look at him. I know I need to get up and strip my clothes off, but I can’t find the energy to do that either.

I think I doze for a second as Bishop comes and pulls my shoes from my feet. He reaches beneath me to unfasten my jean shorts and pulls them from my body.

Next, he takes my panties off. Then he lifts me from the bed and carries me into the bathroom. I smile when I hear the water running in the bathtub.

Bishop sets me on my feet in the bath, then removes my T-shirt and bra. I focus my eyes on him to find he’s already naked.

He steps in with me and lowers our bodies into the water. I sigh and melt into his chest as we settle in the warm water. Bishop palms my forehead and tilts my head back to drop a kiss on my lips. I smile against his lips.

“Thanks, baby. Isha really needed that,” I murmur as we sit quietly.

“I think we all needed that. It was good to see everyone so relaxed.”

“Yeah, I did notice the guys were the most relaxed I’ve ever seen them. I wish Dwayne could have kicked back a little more.”

I didn’t miss how tense Dwayne had been today. I’m convinced he likes Isha now. I also didn’t miss how she gravitates to him as well.

I mean, she flirted with the band members, but I think that was because they’re all natural flirts. I know it was a boost to her ego to have four hot guys focused on her after all she’s been going through with that asshat Emory.

He’s been calling and texting her since she’s been here. I hate that for her. I told her to block him and forget about him. He doesn’t deserve her time.

“It was a workday for him. He could only join in so much. Sometimes, it’s hard for him to work for me and be a friend.”

“I can understand that.”

We fall silent again as he holds me in his warm embrace. I smile when he begins to hum “Perfection,” the song he wrote about me. He’s the one who’s perfect.

CHAPTER 37

Karma

Bishop

“She doesn’t know where we’re going?” Dwayne asks as he pulls out of my driveway.

“No, and I plan to keep it that way. She thinks I’ll be in the label’s studio for the next twenty-four hours. That will give us plenty of time. My mother plans to come over and keep her busy for me,” I reply.

The sun is just rising. The air outside is crisp, but my mood says otherwise. I’ve wanted to make this trip since the day those papers arrived.

“Works for me. We’ll get this done and have you back in no time,” Dwayne says.

I don’t respond, remaining quiet during the rest of the trip while I stew in my anger. There was no way I’d let this shit slide, and I wasn’t going to wait another day to do something about it. A few phone calls and I placed dear old Tom Jeffreys in none other than Vegas.
